You know how on the forums some really like the old evinrude motors, I know I still like mine. In short are there bad years for outboards? Also again in short was 1994 a good vintage for the mercury????

Please post your VINTAGE and what you like about it.
The Hermit

'95 force 70hp, easy to work on, haven't had to yet, it was cheap-no one wanted it
'85 johnson 15hp never stops - unless you flood it

i wouldn't buy a pre '94 force or a motor from a company that is out of business.

Won't buy an omc ficht motor.
Probably wouldn't buy a 2+2 motor either
But thats just me.

What about the 2000 Johnson OIS motor? Is that carburated or what? Is that a bombodier (sp?) motor?

1947 Sea King 1.5.

Good engine for a single cylinder. I like it being water cooled because it is quieter. Trolls a canoe or small pram very well.

Don't know about reliability or longevity yet. If it ever breaks I'll let you know. :)
