On my 99 Gastron 205 GS i have noticed some yellow spots forming in the Gel Coat. This Started a year ago. I contacted our local dealer and he said they would take care of it [was under warranty] will looks like they sanded the areas and place wax over it. Well it still is turning yellow and now of course all the sanding marks are dull. Any help on how to remove the yellow spots?Tried compounds cleaners didnt seem to help.
Thanks
bob

Bob,

I think your problems are DEEPER than what sanding and polishing are going to cure.

Something happened between the laying down of the gel coat and the fiberglass mat. It sounds to me like some type of bleed through issue with the chemicals applied to the mat.

I think I would be talking to the builder-through the dealer.

Hey Bob z,
Roger what djohns19 sez. Something happened during manufacturing, like spraygun dripped catalyst on the back side of your gelcoat. I've seen this happen more than once. Gelcoat should have been stripped out of the mold and started over. Paint will cover it but there ain't no fixin'. This is manufacturing defect.

g'luck & c/6

Hooty
