After our first time out to the lake we have some yellow staining on the hull. I can only imagine its from high clay content in the water. What is the best way to get it cleaned off? What is the best way to keep it clean? I tried a standard car wash and it didn't touch it. Thanks for any suggestions!

Use some oxacylic acid - rust off or toilet bowl cleaner. Then rinse, wax. Then make sure you wipe down the boat when you pull it put rather than letting that crap dry on there and harden.

Great! I'll give that a shot. I did bring it straight home and wash it off. This is my first boat so everything seems to be on a sharp learning curve.

Don't bring home and wash. Pull it off the ramp out of the way after you strap it down, and then take 5 minutes to towel the hull off. It comes off easy when it is fresh out of the water.

Yup. I use a sponge and a bucket of lake water to clean off any scum or waterline before it dries.

Concerning oxacylic acid- it works wonders on cleaning up fiberglass yellowing, but DO NOT let it contact the metal on your trailer!!

I wipe mine down right after pulling out of the water, too, and it saves a ton of work later.
