Hello,
1998 Merc\Force 40 HP (OE339847).
Tach stopped working. Have read through past posts til my eyes bled. Here is what I've learned... If you connect the gray wire to one of the yellow ones off the stator, you will be sending the tach the same ac signal? Do you leave both yellow wires connected during this test and simply splice the gray to a connected yellow?
Have read where the signal from the gray and yellow wires is pretty much the same. Is that correct? If so, can one leave to spliced gray \ yellow wires hooked up in definitely without ruining something??
Sorry to be so thick, but I'd hate to burn out my electronics. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...
