Welcome. Re the holes, you can use JB Weld. Tough stuff, will need to sand and paint. How far are you planning to restore? If not repaint, could you get a new cover made to fit snaps?

Yep, I'd recognize those sore knee makers anywhere.;)
Looks like you got a good one to start with. Good luck

I remember seeing that boat on Ebay. I watch that seller a lot. I'm glad to see it's new owner made his way to iboats!

If you want to snatch those photos off Ebay. Just enlarge each one to view it, right-click over it, and click "Save Picture As...". Put it in a folder where you can find it. Then you can upload it to Photobucket. Then to post it here, just highlight and copy the IMG code for the picture you want to post, and paste it in your reply.

Re: Yet another 73 Starcraft Resto

i got those pics off ebay was using the wrong browser to do it . My 1st intentions was to just replace the wood in the boat and go fishing, But me and the wife talk about it and looks like i am going to be restoring her to the best of my ability (which please don't laugh when i get it done) and the cover the boat has , my garage is where all my boats i owned stay so i don't intend on buying a made for the boat cover. The JB weld will hold in the holes and not fall out i have never used that as a filler and the jb will be painted. The only thing i used jb for was to repair an oil pan that was crack almost in half as my friend was to cheap to buy another one and it has been on for 3 years so i know that is some tough stuff.

The JB will work. Jus make sure there's some on both sides. I used it on some transom holes on my last boat with nothing to grab from behind they did "pop" once I sanded them flush.

I remember seeing that one on Fleabay too. That seller always has an interesting array of older boats for sale. Looks like a great project. Keep posting your progress.

Re: Yet another 73 Starcraft Resto

Just got in from the garage, power washed earlier today, got the new floor all cut out and fitted. will post pics later today. I did go to a local marina(one of many, as the couple that owns it is retiring) saturday morning as there going out of business and pick up my 2 pound can of gluvit for 20 bucks i have every thing to finish my boat except for the paint. AS my wife and i can't agree on the colors wife wants a maroon and gray and i want a navy blue and gray for the hull if i paint my wifes colors i have to take back the carpet i bought for it and buy all new seats right which i was just going to reuse the old ones as they are still in good shape. Now i am in the project for roughly 1300, I know thats not a lot of money but it is to me, going to bed now to tired to think right now:rolleyes:
