O.K. I was a non beliver of all this FICHT bashing I read about. After all the motor ran great without a hiccup all last season and so far this season, until... yesterday. I ran around a couple of hours this afternoon came back to the dock, dropped off two kids and picked up two others. While heading back out of the harbor I got a sputter of the motor and a flash of the check engine light and then the motor died. Tried restarting but no go. By the way Hats off to Sea Tow for getting to me so quickly. The engine seems like it begins to start and immediatly shuts down. It does crank strongly but doesn't fire up. I tried retreiving the codes manually as per the seloc manual (I know, but it's the only one I could get my hands on) but that didn't work. Tried starting again this morning with the fast idle, it started to start but it sounded like a little backfire and again it immediatly shut down. Gauges all work and I can hear the fuel pump prime when I turn the key. Tried starting off a pony tank with a different primer bulb but still no go. I checked the fuel water separator and it was good, only gas no water. All the fuses are good. Its a 2001 150 hp. Any idea where to start looking for problems. I'll also take any referals for a good ,HONEST, Ficht tech on Long Island. Thanks

Re: Yet another FICHT problem

O.K. Happy Memorial Day to all. I think this might be bad. I was able to pull up the trouble codes and heres what I found in the order they came up, if that makes any difference:
#46 BP sensor circuit above expected range
#28 Shift assist circuit malfunction
#35 Oil pressure loss, switch/circuit mlfunction
#56 Injector #6 open load
#53 Injector #3 open load
#54 Injector #4 open load
#51 Injector #1 open load
#21 Couldn't find code for this
#86 Ignition coil #6 open primary
#82 Ignition coil #2 open primary
#85 Ignition coil #5 open primary
#84 Ignition coil #4 open primary
#83 Ignition coil #3 open primary
#81 Ignition coil #1 open primary

I've only run this motor since last spring so I don't know if these codes are old soft codes or new hard codes. If I erase then will the hard codes return just by cranking the motor, since I can't get it started. I read on another forum that the 81 through 86 codes could mean the EMM is toast. Does anyone know if this is true?
