I recently purchased a 95 Grady White 208 Adventure and continue to fight leaking problems. Anyone else out there had these issues or maybe see water in the bilge and wonder where its coming from.

I have now had to replace all of the plastic thru-hulls due to cracking. No sooner had I finished this I discovered the port side plastic drain in the fish box is cracked and leaking water into the bilge.

There are those droplets of water that are not content with living with their many brothers and sisters and just must hitch a ride in our boats. Comes with the fun of ownership getting rid of them critters. Unfortunately many plastic fittings will dry out and cragk over time or the installer overtightens the locking nut.

Keep at it you - when you are sure that you have them all them pesky critters will leap over the side when you hit a wave and find their way to the bilge. That is when you fireup the bilge pump.

I don't trust plastic fittings in any boat. If it's through the hull and will let water in, you might want to consider going to bronze or SS.

THe first thing I did on mine was to replace every thru-hull and scupper with SS to eliminate future problems. .
