I?m looking at purchasing a new 2008 Nitro 898 bass boat by tracker. It is a 20?4? boat with a 93? beam. Options are hydraulic steering, hot foot. 150 optimax engine. 24volt trolling motor at 70 lbs. Thrust, Lowrance x96 fish finder, auto bilge pump, and all the gages. Trailer also has a brake upgrade. All for just over 26 thousand out the door.

What I would like to know is do you think this is a good boat for the money or should I keep looking. This will be my first new boat purchase and I?m confused on what I should be looking for in a new boat other than the fact that I know I want a bass boat.

Thanks

Re: Your opinion please

hey Mw
If it were me, that much of an investment should be able to go salt or fresh.
If you wanna go flats fishin you can. Also if ya just wanna goof off boating not necessarily fishin, but tubin or skiin.
That s my opinion anyway, just make sure it does it all.

Comparison shopping never hurts. How does this deal size up against a Blazer, Skeeter, or Stratos?

Re: Your opinion please

Thanks for the advice. I have never here of Blazer before so I went on line. The 202 pro-v comes the closest to what the nitro has. Both boats are very close in size, but noticeable differences are Blazer 22gal tank to Nitro 48gal, Blazer 200 hp Nitro 150 hp both will go coastal or freshwater, Nitro has more storage. Both have same size trolling motor and fish finders. Price of the Blazer is about 9 thousand more. Closest Blazer dealer is 3hrs away and they don?t have one in stock.

Went to Skeeter.com to compare. All specks they give are on trailer so I can?t compare very easy. So It?s off to the nearest dealer 60 miles away. I?ll call them today and see what they have in stock before making the trip.

With the Stratos Boats the only thing I could find on line in the 20ft range was priced in the 40 thousand-price range. I didn?t look too far there.

Ill still look around, I want to look at the Ranger boats to.

Thanks
