I have a new laptop that I wiped the hard drive of because of all the junkware that came on it and I installed a fresh new clean copy of Win 7. I downloaded and installed the drivers for the video, sound and network cards.

But now, when I go to play a youtube video, the video will start, a single image will appear in the window, you can hear the sound, but the video itself is not advancing. What could be the problem? This laptop has intel intergrated HD graphics. It worked fine right out of the box, but had so much junkware that it was too annoying to use. The installation of adobe flash is brand new and fresh, the latest available on their site.

Any ideas?

I am guessing you need to confirm you have the absolute correct video driver including any updated drivers. Go to the laptop manufacturer website and try to find the driver. And then the video chip maker website. Did the laptop originally ship with Win 7? If it was some other OS it may not be compatible with your Win 7.

What brand of Laptop/model?, I have been doing a lot of work on laptops as of late.

Also, make sure you have all of the correct codecs loaded for youtube, they are always changing things on their website and I have had to update things at times..also do you have the latest version of java loaded on your machine? Last but certainly not least, what browser are you using?

Don't let windows update check for the correct or latest drivers for your video card, go to the manufactures website and chip makers website, what graphics card/cpu combination do you have?
