I looked at a used boat yesterday, 2004 sea hunt, 90 hp johnson, bult 11/2003.
How reliable generally were these motors? finicky? expensive parts/ complicated? etc
Age of the engine bothers me (6 seasons) and I dont know anything about the general design/reliability.
Any input? Thanks

I have th 01 J90 which is essentially the same motor.
Reliable - Very
Finicky - A bit "cold-natured"
Expensive parts - Probably slightly less expensive than average outboard parts.
Complicated - I don't do my own work but these are reputed to be the easiest outboards on the market to work on.

If you got a reasonable deal on the Sea Hunt/Johnson combo and tested it I would go for it.
