zinc i/o fin sealer

Had a problem last season with zinc fin falling off and I used whatever I had on hand to seal the threads and keep it in place after replacing it twice and ruining 1 prop(I guess the zinc hit the prop when it fell off).The report is that blue rtv sealant worked great!!!!!I just removed it and it was still plenty tight.I never had to do this before but since it happened to me twice in as many months,I will be doing it from now on.Just wanted to pass this on since it was recommended not to use it.Charlie
