Hello,

Just aquired this Zodiac but unfortunately the entire wood transom is no longer attached and has been removed. Should I attempt to re-install it or walk away. Looks pretty bad! Not sure if it's fixable? How can the transom be re-installed?

Thanks,

Don

A good shop can do it or you can do it yourself with the proper prep. Check out the posts in the thread "Zodiac - detached pontoons from transom "
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=266962There are pictures of my transom and floor seam work and later posts with glue issues. The transom itself will need to be sealed first. It originally had a coating that appears to have been removed. Worth the effort? How crazy are you? To properly glue all of the layers, wait for each to cure, never overlapping uncured layers and getting everything properly prepped took a lot of time in small bursts of effort. Waiting sucked. I took my boat wakeboarding yesterday, it is solid and reliable after being reglued. Good luck!
