zodiac or mercury hd

I went to the zodiac dealer. I like the 340s or the classic mark 1. I also noticed on line the mercury hd series. I was wondering if anybody has any info on these boats. Are they as tough/good as a zodiac that i was looking at. I like the mercury 14.1 hd.Any help appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks again.

i don't think you would go wrong with either company. you have a choice with mercury between hypalon or pvc for your tubes. i have both and can't say one is dramatically better than the other. i've successfully repaired both. in the UK hypalon is the material of choice but over here pvc is very common and proven durable. just don't store it out in the sun for years. duh. <br /><br />might look at resale value though. the zodiac will likely hold more of it's value. i personally would stick with zodiac. it's a world class company with decades of experience as a work/rescue/recreational boat builder.<br /><br />andy
