I have used penatrating resin to fix the rotted spots on the wood transom. Now I want to glue the rubber bottom channel back. Because the wood surface is not smooth, I dont think the normal PVC glue will work. Is the something with a caulk consistency that will fill in on the rough surface and still adhere? thanks george

Re: Zodiac Transom Rot

Before gluing the fabric to the repaired transom, you have to "prime" the wood with Thermotane 95 (Code 7148 from Zodiac).
The correct procedure would be:
Preparing the wood/plywood surface
? Sand completely to remove varnish or paint
? Use a hard brush to remove all dust.
? Check that no oil rises to the surface again. If it does, re-sand.
? Use a paint brush to apply a fine, even coat of primer.
? Wait and let dry at least 20mn before proceeding to gluing.
