Had my boat out on the water this weekend and the the rpms started to drop off. Was running at about 5400 and ended up at about 3800. Checked the racor filter bowl and sure enough full of water. So i got to the fuel dock and pumped the remaining fuel (using the primer bulb) into a barrel and put fresh fuel in and changed out the racor. Ran a little bit better but for about 3 min and then the rpms started to drop again. So i changed out the racor for a second time and hooked my fuel line to a small boat can that i know had clean fuel in it and still had the same problem. I draind out the fuel injector rail and the high pressure fuel pump and the fuel looked good...no water but i still cant get the rpms up. so now I'm thinking its that the high pressure fuel filter is clogged from too much water and is limiting the flow of fuel. I have orderd a replacement. what do you guys think? Am i on the right track? I live i remote area of alaska so taking it to the shop is pretty much out of the question.
