Sounds to me like you have a wire burnt off on an element. Your element is only getting 120 instead of 220/240 volts. It will still get hot, but not hot enough.<br /><br /> Check your plug going into the wall. If it has got hot and the spades on the plug are burnt, this could be another cause.<br /><br />If that is okay, with it unpluged, open the panel where the pigtail/cord goes into the dryer. There should be a junction block/terminals. Sometimes this is where the wires can burn into.<br /><br />If it is not there, it could be on your heater element where the supply wire hooks to it, or even one side of the heater element is open circuit. Need to change element. I wouldn't pay anymore than $50 for the element. Not that hard of a job to do.<br /><br /> Pick up one of those DIY books on appliances.
