Re: Super Tech Full Synthetic oil
Using a diesel oil in a gas engine is a little known secret! The detergents in them keep your engine spotless inside, and they have very good storage potential. They also have more friction modifiers in them. All in all, they are a very fine oil. The only reason I like the Chevron Dello 400 is that there Base stock is a Hydrocracked petrolium oil, similar to the Castrol Syntec without the synthetic price. So, for a diesel oil price, you are getting an allmost synthetic oil. Either will go past the 5,000 mile mark in a gas engine, and shown to go to 7,500 in some used oil analysis.

I posted, and then saw Kenimpzooms question. No, you can use a diesel oil in a gas engine, but not the other way around. The reason being that diesels need the anti acid formulation due to the sulfer in the fuel, they also need the extra detergents and the friction modifiers because of the compression they run. Want to ruin your diesel, run an automotive oil in it for awhile.
