I heard this the other day and it does make sense.

If you get honey from your local area and consume it throughout the fall and winter. Your body will build antibodies for the those pollens in your area. Those antibodies will keep those allergies in control during the spring and summer. For it to work, it must be honey collected from your local area. After all, it is the pollens that is collected from the bees of all the different types of flowers/weeds in you location.

My brother will not eat anything that has honey in or on it. I love honey and use it frequently. He has allergies so bad that he takes enormous amounts of medication for. Then here I am without any allergy problems. Go figure that one out.

Just thought maybe some of you have heard of this or haven't. I know it is a little late now, but maybe next season if someone has these problems could try it.

Honey is very good for a healthier life. I have eaten it for all my life and almost never get sick. It is good on a cold day mixed in hot tea.

SS.. have heard that as well. another twist on the local honey, lot of people that DO have allergies to a lot of outside stuff, only give them local honey, cause if it comes from somewhere else, may have other things in it their body isn't used to.

Use local honey a lot. Great in tea and on waffles/pancakes. I also use it as a substitute for sugar in baking bread and in making liquors (my cinnamon/honey/peach liquor is to kill for).

The theory about local honey building tolerance for local pollens makes a lot of sense.

Now I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but you not having any allergy problems may be completely unrelated to the honey you eat. My father doesn't have any allergy problems and I have it bad enough to knock me down completely for hours, if not an entire day, at a time. He doesn't eat honey and I do. Of course it's not locally made honey though.

Anyway...

It does make sense though, but I would want to talk to a professional to see it if has any real chance of being true.

even better is bee bread (the pollen that they collect and store) can be costly but works, also boosts energy. And the spring "dark" honey should be ready MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMM

I hope your not speaking of one of these "professionals" that help put drugs out there that need to be recalled :) .

That's how I learned about honey. When I was young{living with parents} our next door neighbor was a bee keeper. He use to give us{neighborhood kids} the wax combs and a spoon, better then any candy ever sold in a store. As I got older and before he passed he taught me quite abit about bee's and their importance. Someday I would like to get a hive or 2
