Hopefully going to pick up a 1973 Supersport 16 with a 85hp merc later this week if its not sold. The owner is the orginal owner and has been keeping it in his barn all its life, I cant wait!

Re: hello to all fellow starcraft owners

Hello i have a 1977 Starcraft American 18. She's an inboard outboard bowrider. I have owned this boat for 1 year. It came with many of its original papers from the sale and instructions booklets. It runs exellent and looks good in the water

Nice...

I'm restoring a 1976 model 18' American I/O. She's still a garage queen, but I'll be splashing her very soon as I believe I've got all the issues straightened out.

Re: hello to all fellow starcraft owners

Hello to all, I am new to this forum and very glad I found it. I have a 18' 1962 Starcraft cuddy cabin that I have been wanting to restore. I really dont know if I should keep her original or upgrade with some intense modifications, both looks and comfort wise. She is in great shape except for paint. I have also thought about selling her but not decided. What do ya'll suggest?

There are very few true "classic boats" so I wouldn't concern myself with keeping it original. Starcrafts are good solid hulls that will probably outlive us all. Go for it. What motor do you have?

Re: hello to all fellow starcraft owners

Don't have a motor for her yet. I really want to put around 120hp on it but I honestly don't know the rating. I want it to GO but I also want gas economy.
You have a great looking boat. The first thing I want to do is get rid of the old windshield, might have to steal your idea. Any ideas of where I might find pics of a 62 cuddy cabin?

I am enjoying looking at all he restoration pictures and browsing this forum. Wow, what great work you guys are doing. I have never seen pics or read info on my boat, but they all do look very similar. Any info you can throw my way would be appreciated. I reckon I'll have to get out my camera to get some before pics now, its great following these projects.

Boss Hawg,
That is one very sweet boat. Pristine for an '87.

Re: hello to all fellow starcraft owners

I love my starcrafts and cannot get enough of them.

My first Starcraft;

Originally purchased as a project boat. Got her on a trade of a tiller outboard. Boat, motor, trailer and a New survival suit for a 30hp tiller. Sounded like a good deal to me..

Re: hello to all fellow starcraft owners

North Beach, Thank you dose not say enough. That looks like her 'cept mine is outboard, and don't have upper windshield. I have been laid up with back surgery the last couple weeks and I finally made it to the computer. You made my day! If you have any more information about her ( or anyone else) please send it along either on here or my e-mail dcglazier@yahoo.com You guys are great, just can't say enough thank yous. I am hoping to concentrate on the boat more than this%#@*^?& pain. I am hoping in 2-3 weeks I will be well enough to start my project boat, just wait till you see what my middle aged warped mind can come up with. Reguards, Dale

Re: hello to all fellow starcraft owners

Just wanted to drop a Hello, and to mention, from what I can tell a rare gem in an 1963 18' Starcraft "Starchief" with a 1969 115hp Johnson which replaced the orginal dual outboards it came with. Note have only seen pictures of the orginal outboards. Boat has been in the family since it was bought new in 1963.

Any one who may know more about this model, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for all the great history that I read about the other Starcraft models.

Wow, that's a cool boat!!

Saw a similar one awhile back on CL out here, was called a Gasparilla model..

It was a bit older than that one even..very cool indeed! I would have bought her but I found her a couple days AFTER getting my Holiday!
