If your explored result of Christian ideologies didn't support your Grandma saying that your Jewish Grandma wouldn't go to heaven,I'm not clear on why that is relative on you never becoming a Christian.
Edit:I think what you were trying to say is that you didn't agree with what your Grandma said and since she symbolized what a Christian was to you that it turned you away from becoming one.The part that confused me was the wording of your closing sentence.
