Re: How many people here believe that we will get hit again!

I guess the best answer to this question is to say he did as great a job as W has done.

You are still spinning it.... did Slick do anything about OLB?

By the way, was OBL unknown by W up until 9/11?

No... see how easy a straight answer is?

Edit: Got another Q for you... Has W done anything about OBL since 9/11?... straight answers only please.

Was Slick Willie more interested in cleaning out the Whitehouse than he was in passing on important information to the new Administration?

Yes, and before, he was inventing new ways to "moisten" his cigar instead of chasing OBL.... his lasting legacy.

During the Clinton administration, the CIA waswatching OBL...President Clinton authorized the CIA to assininate Bin Laden and overthrow the Taliban in Afganistan. The Bush administration was after him from day one.

This quip from erickems I find particularly funny: "Who made it so they couldn't share information?" I'm sure if you search the archives you'll find a presidential directive prohibiting federal agencies from cooperating with each other, just not sure how far back you'll have to go...20...50...100 years? more? LOL

That worked out as well as "I didn't have sex with that woman"... didn't it...

Who overthrew the Taliban?... Who has OBL on the run, or at least hiding to save his hide?...

Re: How many people here believe that we will get hit again!

Since I work alone at our local airport with commercial planes unattended on the ramp I kinda take it personally the security of my facility overnight.

Just the other night I'm just getting to work and I pull into our hangar and no other employees are around (on the shift prior to mine) and I see this guy in a suit walking around in our hangar. I asked him if he was the pilot of that Learjet on the line and he said yes. I informed him that even so, he needed to get inside because no unbadged individuals are allowed on airport grounds.

He didn't like it, but I didn't care.

A few nights later at midnight a UPS truck wants to enter the gate. We have UPS air service to and from our airport and trucks come and go all the time, but not in the middle of the night. After being fussed by the front gate guard lady that he wanted in bad I go against policy and let him in (I dont work for UPS, so I'm not supposed to ever let them in), only to find out they were foreign and couldn't tell me what they wanted. Airport security happened to be driving by so I flagged them down and told them the situation. I was briefly fussed for letting them in and then that truck was turned around and escorted out of the gate immediately by armed sheriffs deputies.

Just a little piece of what I'm trying to do to help out with our airport's security.

P.S. That UPS truck was never further than 20 feet from me. I never left it or its occupants alone, and I had the company cell phone on me calling airport security. I was about to dial 911 because I knew I'd made a mistake and was outnumbered. I spoke with the sheriff and the airports security was never considered breached because after my mistake I took proper action. The front gate guard lady was given an earfull by the sheriff since I was only doing what an airport security person was telling me to do, which was wrong and I knew it. It will never happen again.

At LFT, witf? Having a direct stake in what you're doing, let me tell you how much I appreciate your approach to the job. Keep it up!

Yes, at LFT. We have an American Eagle flight that goes to and from your local airport several times a day.

And you're welcome. I can't ever be a cop, or even own a gun, but I have been given a job with a responsibility almost as important as a cop's. When everybody is all tucked in to bed at night they can rest assured I'm doing what I can unarmed to help keep our little airport and it's morning flights secure, even though it's not my job. I could turn my head, but I feel I've been given this position for a reason, and since I can help, I do. I always keep a keen eye out for something funky happening. I have 20/15 vision, which is better than 20/20, and I use it. I've seen people on our ramp squatting behind planes in total darkness. They were the pilots, but still, at least I saw.

I'm not bragging, I'm just letting you guys know that although TSA security is a joke, I take security at our FBO seriously.

There was terrorism prior to the Iraq invasion and there will be terrorism after we win... or lose, it matters not whether our leadership is Democratic or Republican.
No country on earth is tougher on terrorists than Israel, yet they suffer from daily attacks. The underlying problem of Mid-East terrorism lays at he door step of the Arab nations and their oppressive nature of government.
The war against terror will perhaps benefit most if the USA withdraw all financial and military support for these autocratic dictatorships in the Mid-East.

I guess you didn’t see this report did you boom?

Some cut and paste provided to bring you up to 2004.

Clinton: Bush Had Urgent Warnings on Al-Qaeda
By Philip Shenon
The New York Times
Saturday 20 March 2004

WASHINGTON Senior Clinton administration officials called to testify next week before the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks say they are prepared to detail how they repeatedly warned their Bush administration counterparts in late 2000 that Al Qaeda posed the worst security threat facing the nation and how the new administration was slow to act.

One official scheduled to testify, Richard A. Clarke, who was President Bill Clinton's counterterrorism coordinator, said in an interview that the warning about the Qaeda threat could not have been made more bluntly to the incoming Bush officials in intelligence briefings that he led.

Tree, I know you most likely won't ever see this, as you have me "ignored",(guess he couldn't take the heat  ) but think of all the thousands of briefings a new President gets, the thousands of details involved in just taking office, the million and one details involved in running this country, and you might get the idea that 9 months into his Presidency, he was still learning his job... not like Clinton who had years to do something, and didn't..... well, besides Monica and his cigars.
