I am surrounded by incompetant morons.. but who isn't?
The only problem I have adjusting to that is these morons don't comprende english.
As i screamed DROP THE BUCKET!! DROP THE BUCKET!" ,I might as well have been shouting, "RAISE THE GARBANZO! RAISE THE GARBANZO!!"

or get people that can speak our language, or can operate said equipment,,,,
I have seen hispanics (trying not to say mexicans) do this kind of thing to just get a break!

Doesn't look like the loaders hurt, but the haz-mat would be a $$job around here. Its a stretch to call the human an operator. Maybe a broom and a #2 scoop for that boy on someone else's job:%

I am (or was a couple of years ago) an equipment operator. That was easily the most fun I ever had earning a paycheck. I was always very conscientious of over head and underground utilities, and the equipment it's self. Check the oil and air filter everyday before starting the machine. I think most guys think of operating equipment more as a game than work. A loaded bucket can make a loader really unstable with a little elevation and a little sideways grade. I have seen loaders completely airborne from bucking. What I don't understand is why operators aren't fired the second they abuse the equipment or do something stupid/dangerous....

Yep. It's operator101 stuff. Two weeks ago, it was a trackhoe tooth into the side of the nearby active 16" force main. Ah yes.. That was another carpy day for sure. But you get what you pay for.
With their company, it is a mandatory drug test, but I'll bet this clown is right back in that cab come Monday.
A beginer's mistake, that hopefully will never happen to him again.
And had this occured in the middle of some field as opposed to along a very busy thuroughfare, the fire truck. two sherriff cars, "Advanced life support vehicle" (Ambulances everwhere else), and fire marshal would never have been dispatched... All of which just made the day more interesting.
I have to do a report (I am the utility CEI on the project), but told them to hold their breath until monday around noon or so... I aint rushing for anyone.

Yup, some are drivers and some are operators, this guy was a driver.

Lot's o' fun eh 12Footer? At least the rig looks OK. A li'l diesel to clean up, n' maybe an oil change n' all, (assumin' he had the brains to shut 'er off, unless there is a kill switch in the crank case). If the guy is back in the saddle Monday maybe he has a li'l more respect for the center o' gravity. I hate to admit it but I was usin' a John Deere 4X4 loader to load round rock fer the septic systems out on ol' Rubby Ridge Island. The darn thing had sooo much power, (I was loadin' on a side hill, [no other option]), n' had ta get the bucket as full as possible before rollin down the hill ta load the barge ta float across the ol' pond. The JD bucket was very poorly designed (compared to my "Terra Mite" mini back hoe out on RR Island), so ta get her full I had to push the loader into the pile o' rocks, n' clean her, (push the rocks to the back o' the bucket) by liftin' her high in the air, n' load her again to get a full bucket. One time the tires dug in, (lower on the down hill side o' the tractor for some reason), n' when I cleaned her, over she went. It was slow motion so I wasn't even real scared, but had ta clean up the mess, n' fill up the oil n' finish the job much more aware o' the holes the tracter tires were diggin. I think that was one of the hardest jobs I ever did, (barging 80 yards o' rock [1 1/2 yards at a time] to ol' Ribby Ridge Island), n' installing two gravity sepitc systems. Respectfully JR

I've seen white guys from Iowa do that bad and worse. Lack of training/experience or just plain stupidity doesn't necessarily have a racial or ethnic boundary.

and yet, it would've been a different story had the guy understood what i was saying to him.
He had abt 15 seconds worth of "hang time" But instead, he stuck it into reverse and tried to turn the wheels right.... ooops.

I hear what you're sayin', 12. I'm just saying that an operator that bad might not have responded correctly even if he spoke the language.

About 30 years ago I saw a situation very similar to yours. 3 people yelling at a native born english speaking American to drop the *** bucket and he decides to keep trying to drive it. Flop. It was one of those old '50s vintage Hough loaders which was about equivalent to putting a bucket on a pogo stick. This guy lived but one previous operator of this same loader didn't.
