I thought I would start a simple thread based on iboats.......

As I read a few posts I have discovered a few  spelling errors. These are obvious errors and not ones from faulty typing.....

I ran into these random words this evening.

Varifyin

Bote

Grunds

Re: Spell

All compliments of the NEA and the Federal Dept of Edookashun. We never had these problems when our chirdren were edookated in the little red skool house.

All of that and the fact that the liberals, federal tax policy and feminism have chased the mother out of the house. She used to be the one that insured that her kids learned their ABC's! Now she is too busy being Ms. ,I've got to get mine too, Professional. Kids be damned. Turn their caretaking over to Aunt Sam.

Re: Spell

I can tolerate most of it.

Here's my pets:

Know the difference between then and than.

Alot is not a word.

That's all I have to say about that. I don't correct people's spelling because as sure as I do, I'll do it too. :D

Title of the thread is:

"prop sharpining"

First post is:

"I was wandering how to go about putting an edge on a prop, or to send it off to have it done. I'm purdy good with tools, so any input would be great."

Re: Spell

some of us out here are dislexic, Webster was the worst speller (is that a word?) I have found. I mean take the word "enuf" (enough for those who can't spell it correctly) Webster spelled it wrong and we all accepted it. There are many other words that are misspelled in the dictionary and we don't try to change it. If it's close enuf I can read it, whats it really mater?

Re: Spell

The one I notice the most is the use of "loose" or "loosing" when what is meant is "lose" or "losing". That one ain't spelled like it sounds! :p

Re: Spell

How about "timming". As in "I replaced the timming belt on my Ford the other day". Should be "Timing".

Sorry it bugs you Mr. Tree. I'm a very poor speller, but my "cornpone", (which I believe it was you that named it that), is on purpose. I try to tone it down when I specifically respond to you, (out of courtesy that I feel you do in fact deserve). I think Bro Haut was the first one who used a lot of slang with me here on iboats, and I decided to use it myself as it also somewhat masks my horrible spelling abilities. JR
