Re: Immigration Bill Dead.. Good.

You are totally reading into my posts OMR.

Eric, I don't know what planet you are revolving around. Please reread post #18 notice my word: "mistakenly", got a dictionary? Look up what the word means: please. Now read what you said: you wanted me in jail if I did not get "positive proof they are legal", post #19. Please consult a dictionary for the meaning of your words if you don't understand the plain meaning that I took from those very plain words.

Compare the SS number on the card to the W-4, you don't need a database to do that.

Wow yer back in orbit again. Eric you really need to join the real world here. Fake ss # and false IDs are a major growth business in most of the Country, and certianly here in Seattle area, Nebraska must be on the dark side of the moon. You clearly have zero concept of employment issues for employers. Do you believe in magic? Why do you hate business so much? Don't you know business, specifically small business is where the real moving and shakin' happens in this Country?

I said you should go jail and be fined if you HIRE ILLEGAL immigrants and know it.

Tell me again: how do you, (or I as a small business owner that you want to put in jail), know or not know anything about a persons' legal status when all local law enforcement and agencies work to provide illegals sanctuary: Eric? The Dems and Libs have been doing all they can at all levels of government to allow a flood of people who they think will vote for Dems to get more government perks and grow their power. You want to balence this issue by throwing all legal business owners who MISTAKENLY, (the word I used: Eric) hire them to go to jail. That is what you said. I read your words literally, as I'm a very poor mind reader, as you surely must know. You clearly have one issue here that unteathers you from the your normaly rational behaviour.

Where you ever got the idea that I thought YOU should ENFORCE the laws is way beyond me.

I use my single brain cell. If I mistakenly hire an illegal you want me in jail. You lectured me about going to [my private filling system, I guess] of all the social security numbers to tell if the persons' number he or she gave me on a sworn statement and card was legitimate. Do your plain words mean anything? Is this "wonderland", if so: we are "through the looking glass".

" All local law enforcement are directed to provide sanctuary " Are you saying that you actually believe that is in the Constitution of the Untied States?

Earth to Eric, Earth to Eric: what makes you think Libs in Seattle, (Martin Luther as the Libs renamed it), King County or the State of Washington give a rat's arse about the US Cornstatution or the State Cornstatution. You truly are in orbit somewhere, but not here on this particular issue. I'm beyond dissapointed: my man!!!! JR

Let's try this one more time. Put the koolaid down for a sec, ok?

"Fake ss # and false IDs" NOT UP TO YOU TO VERIFY, CAN I SAY IT ANY CLEARER FOR YOUR ONE DEAD CELL?

Re: Immigration Bill Dead.. Good.

So you've been listening after all.

No King Skinny, I actually work out the ol' brain cell constantly. I listen, and read all the time. You just may not like my cornclusions. In fact it is very unlikely you will ever like my cornclusions.

So really, all it would take is just one itty bitty Independent anybody to get into the Whitehouse for a measly 4 years.

First: there has only been one instance of that type of opportunity over the 200 plus years of that potential occurance in presidential politics: Ross Perot. He blew it when he proved he was insane, (with the CIA at his daughters' wedding comments), to most of the interested observers, but he took enough votes from President Bush #41 that we got a Bill Clinton. That made you third party types real happy: I guess, eh King Skinny? That is the normal impact of third parties. The Democrats may fracture the Republican party with immigration so by all means destroy the Republicans with a third party wack job. Maybe we get lucky and have 70 years of domination like FDR established in 1932. There is a goal for ya!!! Third party types must luv loosing, right: King Skinny? 'cause they always loose.

This one action could do more and faster to cure much of what is the problem in Washington.

Wrong: we would have socialist medicine, (all those profitable Pharma corps we now have that actually pay lots of taxes would be either off shore or run by government beaurocrats with yer tax dollars), ramed down yer wacko third party Presidents' throat with the Dem supermajority that would be veto proof. Bro Haut would be happy as all the oil companies would move off shore n' the Dominant Dems could start big gub oil, (again with yer tax dollars). If yer third party wacko won which party would do his bidding in the congress? Do ya ever use that cornsiderable brain of yers fer some ponderin' of those possibilities based on the actual system of government we have, King Skinny?

It might even save the country.

Sometimes we do rise up in the time of crisis. I just don't see the promise you see here King Skinny! Sorry. I actually like the Country as is, I was jus' sniveling a bit at those spinless pols from both parties unable to solve major problems that are corntinuing to compound: that's all!! JR

Why should any business have to enforce immigration policy?....

I just knew that deep down we were soulmates. You have hit the nail on the head. A government that is so concerned with it's own agenda that it has to put the onus on the populace to enforce the things that it should rightfully do should be ejected.

And as liberals seem to dominate the halls of gubmint, all beauracracies included, I say "Smite the Liberals" and all their adherants.:p

Re: Immigration Bill Dead.. Good.

According to what I heard, Tony Snow said that the fines on the present laws are very low. 25$ for each offense is not enough to spend the time and money to go after the offenders. That is the main reason they do not enforce the present law.

Yeah, they don't want to loose their money out of the legal fund, but don't care about how much it is costing our Government Assistance Fund.

I think they just need to update the existing law with the fines being made stiffer.

Meanwile until this is settled, MSM is a big arse billboard basically saying "Come on in before it is too late to those south of the border"

As long as there is nothing but lawyers running the show, we will have problems due to their inability to connect with common people. What happend to "We the People" vs "We the Attorneys" as it is now.

Do you have a mental disorder: my friend? Has illegal immagration caused ya to loose yer normally rational thought process?......your insane wish......I guess you loose all rationality about yer pet pieves just like Liberals seem to do about theirs. Ya been sneakin' some nips of the Libs' stash or is this irrational cornduct normal in yer situation........causes even normally rational Cornservatives to become totally irrational.......What are you SMOKING: Eric?...... to your foolish statements?........Thinkin' clearly are we?...I don't think you know what yer talkin' about....you appear to be real intolerant of others.....I don't know what planet you are revolving around....Wow yer back in orbit again. Eric you really need to join the real world here.....Earth to Eric, Earth to Eric:.......You truly are in orbit somewhere, but not here on this particular issue......

No, I can't read minds Murky. One doesn't have to read minds to know if it's sunny or cloudy outside.

Plainsman was only trying to debate with you. Seems that anytime someone bests you, it's out with the claws.
That's OK but it's strange you'll then pick up on the most minor things to cry foul on.

I'm sure we'll witness more examples here shortly....

Plainsman was only trying to debate with you.

Plainsman specifically said: I should go to jail for mistakenly hiring an illegal employee that I can't possibly know about do to specific circumstances here in the State of Washington. I took issue with that. He then lectured me on the fact that I was lazy for not enforcing Federal immigration laws, in a Liberal state that has actual laws favoring sanctuary. It was an irrational anti business argument, and his last post seemed to do a 180 from what he specifically said earlier. I was only tryin' to debate with him: King Skinny!

Seems that anytime someone bests you, it's out with the claws.

Wanna 'splain that one: King Skinny? How does a hard arse irrational; totally uninformed; totally uncompromising position favoring incarceration of a totally innocent party doing a lawfull business "best me"?

That's OK but it's strange you'll then pick up on the most minor things to cry foul on.

Wishin' I be thrown in jail for obeying the law and operating a legal business is a "most minor thing". Yer the King: Skinny, what ever floats that royal boat of yers!

I'm sure we'll witness more examples here shortly....

I try to deal with a persons' words, not them personnaly. You called me foul, I just challanged yer powerfull sense of smell King Skinny, nothing personal. JR

I'm not worked up at all Eric, maybe King Skinny is but not me.

One minor lil' point here: Eric, that is NOT what you said. You are a Cornservative, and the record of the post exists, let's review the record shall we?

#1 I highlighted a portion of a previous post of yours that hit me, (as an actual employer in a Liberal dominated sancuary territory), as niave. YOUR words I choose to highlight were:

"Enforce the laws on the books, go after employers and fine them to the max. No jobs, many will leave."

Spoken like a person with absolutely NO CLUE of what it takes to use yer own money to take the risk to actually run a business and meet a payroll.

#2 I replied with the following post to hopefully jog you back to reality:

"Hmmm, put me in jail fer mistakenly hiring someone Seattle or the State of Washington allows to get legal documents eh Eric? Real fair to make me correct all the sins of forty years of Ted Kennedy eh? WRONG!!"

I specifically baited you with an extrapolated "put me in jail" to drive the following points home.

A. Senator Kennedy has intentionally created land mines in Federal legislation with anchor baby and other immigration provisions to encourage lawlessness, and he has candidly admitted he wanted to brown America to retain and continue his party's grip on power out into the future.

B. The Republicans are not blameless, as they legitimately fear the Latino voter backlash, (BTW: Latinos are the largest minority now), and wealthy individuals, (both Liberal and Cornservative), and business, (large and small), benifited from the inexpensive labor either outright, or indirectly from the competition for jobs keeping wages lower.

C. Local Liberals in many major cities, and many Liberal states have passed laws where illegals can not be asked about their residence status, (the State of Washington is one of those places), can get drivers' licences and other professional licences. At false SS card and # is VERY EASY to also get.

D. Our Federalist system allows the individual states and local governments lots of lattitude. That is in the US Cornstatution: Eric! Senator Kennedy knew that when he set up the leaks in the system years ago. The local Libs have done what they have a right to do: passed 'sanctuary' laws that actually makes it impossible to enforce Federal immigration laws.

Your reply was:

"Yeppers, to jail you go. If you have no positive proof they are LEGAL, then off you go. Why take the chance?"

It is obvious from your position prior to yer 180 on post #42 and this one, that you don't get that. Businesses like I and other iboaters own are caught in the cross hairs of intollerant Right wingers who resent business, and Liberals who also don't like business. That leads to people who just don't get it to say: FINE EMPLOYERS TO THE MAX! Real fair of you: Eric. Thanks a lot! I and other business owners who pay their taxes and obay the laws really appreciate yer support in putting this issue on our backs.

You bit, hook line and the sinker! You did not rethink yer position on this (as I had hoped), and took yer irrational VERY anti business position even further. You said I could verify the validity of the employee's SS#!!! VERY NIAVE THING TO SAY TO THE OWNER OF A HEAVILY TAXED BUSINESS THAT IS NOT IN THE LAW ENFORCEMENT BUSINESS. I pay taxes fer law enforcement: Eric!! I challanged you as to how, and you just dug in yer heels implied that I was lazy, until you did a 180 (like on this particular post). You had to assume or read my mind that I was breaking any law or laws, as I never break laws intentionally when I operate my business, (only a fool would do that IMHO). Nor would I ever intentionally hire an illegal.

Maybe you just missunderstood me and viewed me as running some sort of illegal racket or enterprize. I OBAY THE LAW ERIC, (allways have), please do not assume otherwise and you can not read my mind. I have no problem with your current position, but a big problem with the position you held prior to your 180.

Cornservatives are just people: Eric. I know I'm not perfect, I don't know how you feel about perfection. We as Cornservatives tend to form opinions from what we know and learn. I hope others with hard anti business positions read this debate and learn a thing or two they did not know previously. Thanks for the debate, no hard feelings, Respectfully JR

Man you can ramble on and not really say anything of value.

Of course I said those things and I never made a 180. Like I stated before, you read into things, kinda seems like your attempting some mind reading of your own.

And you baited me? Pleaseeeeeeee...... You may want to get that one brain cell tuned up. Or at least have your drinking water tested.

The laws that now exist need to be enforced. Be it businesses that hire illegals or LEO that have contact with the illegals.

EDIT: Ignorance of the law is no excuse murky, don't forget that either.

Whatever you say: Eric

Of course I said those things and I never made a 180.

You sure did. You wanted me to go to jail for counting on a lawfull government issued document, and a sworn statement. I would get out of jail with the photo copies of those that would be stuck up the prosecutors' arse by my lawyer.

Like I stated before, you read into things, kinda seems like your attempting some mind reading of your own.

Read yer PLAIN words:Eric.

baited me? Pleaseeeeeeee...... You may want to get that one brain cell tuned up. Or at least have your drinking water tested.

Spoken like a person who totally lacks any clue. The laws create jeopardy for buisness that you want to ruin me and other business owners with. Real nice: Eric.

Be it businesses that hire illegals or LEO that have contact with the illegals.

EDIT: Ignorance of the law is no excuse murky, don't forget that either.

I'm much more aware of it then you seem to be. That is why I have a file of photo copies of government issued IDs, and sworn statments, for each employee, to protect me from poeple like you who wish me harm. Go ahead n' turn me in to ICE or who ever ya want to kick my doors in. JR

Now that was a good response. Straight to the point, no rambling on and on.

So with this statement:

"The laws create jeopardy for buisness that you want to ruin me and other business owners with"

Are you saying that you were FOR the bill?

I'm for a bill Eric. Most politicians are a bunch of creeps and just want to kick the can down the road. I laid my position out previously, you can find it on this thread and tear it appart if you want to. I want to solve this problem not just put it on my back and ruin my and every other business like you want to do: (at least to my particular business as you have said here). Have a good rest of the weekend!! JR

Re: Immigration Bill Dead.. Good.

I believe that we all want a bill, but one that works. Not with amnesty all over it.

From my D Senator:

Solving the immigration issue will certainly be a complex matter;
but we are in a hole, and it is time to stop digging. Properly
securing our borders first is our best means to begin resolving this
situation. This past February, I witnessed firsthand the border
barrier construction and enhanced border security measures on the
Arizona-Mexico border. Increased patrols, physical barriers and
"virtual fencing" - composed of radar, sensors, and aerial and
vehicle patrols in remote areas - are already making a difference.
In addition, border patrol agents have repeatedly noted that the
assistance of National Guard members deployed through
"Operation Jumpstart" has been invaluable. Each of these elements
has contributed to a reduction in border crossings in this region,
from hundreds a day last fall to a handful a month today. I will
continue to push for measures promoting efforts such as these to
ensure that we properly secure America's borders and will keep
your thoughts in mind regarding any immigration proposal which
may come before the Senate in the months ahead."

I don't want your business to fail or go under,I never said I did, but I won't sit here and have you try to bash me. Not gonna happen. If your obeying the laws, then stop crying that I want it to go under, it won't if you obey the laws.
