I got racially insulted today

couple middleeastern teenagers were stuck in an elevator today, I was stannding in the hallway with the buliding manager when one of them yelled out something along the lines of "You only got us stuck in here because were not white!"

I was not impressed. after talking to their father they reluctantly apologized.

I feel your pain, Bandit86. That type stuff happens here every day. The town where I live is majority black with an exploding hispanic population. The only thing the majority hates worse than a white person is a hispanic person. Not all of the majority here are racist but a really large portion of them are.

I was in a new barbecue place here and people were lined up ordering. There were 3 registers open. The line i was in was moving fairly well until they got to me. The young lady, and i use that term loosely, waited on the guy in front of me, then asked 2 guys behind me for their order but they had already placed their order, then she just looked at me and didnt even ask if she could help me. I looked at her and walked out. I saw the owner later than day and explained what happened and he said "What you want me to do about it?!?!?!" and walked off.

If a white owned establishment and white girl had done that to a black customer.... the NAACP, RAINBOW Coalition and no telling what other radical goups would have swooped in, beat their drum and ruined that buisness.

If a white owned establishment and white girl had done that to a black customer.... the NAACP, RAINBOW Coalition and no telling what other radical goups would have swooped in, beat their drum and ruined that buisness.

And now you know how the other side feels and should be able to respond to the better with more compassion and understanding.

I really don't care what color or ethnic persuasion anyone is, there needs to be respect, understanding, and reaching out from all sides. If you want respect, it has to be earned, not mandated.

So, if Mr. White wants to be respected, he should act in a manner that deserves to be respected. And if Mr. Black wants to be respected, he should act in a manner that deserves respect ... etc.

aspeck, i've lived here 50 years, and remember well the boycotts of the 60's. I've seen both sides and have been on both sides. Regardless of who's who, what's what or where.... things like that shouldnt happen but they do and it will never change.

I agree they should not happen, and although I used your quote, the comments were not directed at anyone in particular.

The realist in me says your are right, it will never change, but the hopeful optimist in me says that we can overcome it, on all sides, one person at a time. If I can change my attitude, and that causes someone to change their attitude, etc. But there is no quick fix, and legislating quotas and integration only create more hard feelings. It takes one heart at a time to change things.

Yep, but ya gotta be missing the PIZZA! (42 years western burbs...tore up the Chain-of-Lakes 60's-70's..still crazy there)...and got a HS Buddy (60, last ticket was for 152 MPH on his "busa")...lives in Parkersburg. Tell ya the truth, 14 years west coast WA, has me wanting out...the white Lib Tree Huggers drive ya nuts..WVA is on the list...

I noticed out African-american brothers calling us "white boys" which doesn't really matter to me, but try turning the table around.

I remember a strory on cnn, a teacher got in a whole mess of trouble, she was trying to learn the new kids names and wrote easily identifiable descriptions beside their names. Red hair, blonde, etc.

One of the girls, I recall the only one that was black, had "black girl" written beside her name. the girl saw that, told her mother and before you know it the school was investigating the teacher, all on national tv.

From this day on, next one to call me "white" is racially harrassing me. From now on I'm a "European Canadian", "Europen-American" but noone dare call me "white"
