What is the best stuff to use for this?
I am in process of putting it on my new truck and wanted to clean it up first.

Spinner, I use a product called ConCoil. Its for cleaning coils on A/C and refrig systems. It brightens the aluminum real good. I get the stuff through Allied Supply. I use the same stuff to clean up my aluminum boat trailer. It doesn't make it shinney like chrome, but makes it clean and bright. It is acid based so you don't want to get any on your truck!

I've heard some guys using the Naval Jelly for aluminum, but never have tried it myself.

That is what I like about the ConCoil. Spray it on, watch it foam up, hose it off and your done. All in the matter of minuets. BTW,,,no scrubbing needed :D
It is some bad stuff and you gotta wear the protective garb.

Some of the diamond plate boxes are then clear anodized to maintain the shine and if you use aluminum acid (concoil) on them, it will either be ineffective or ruin the clear coat. What you want is an industrial type detergent such as Simple Green or Purple Power, both should be readily available at any home improvement store. If it is not cleared, then the concoil should work great as will any acid based cleaner designed to be used on aluminum wheels. And if neither of those work then try wire wheel acid, it's a bit more aggressive, but if you are not careful it will turn your aluminum white.

The Flitx polishing balls look effective on the TV commercials. They make polishing compounds as well. Google "Flitz". I believe you can buy directly from their web site.
