Hi today when I was out boating the bilge pump came on a lot and a lot of salt water was pumping out. This has never happened before. Where is the water coming from and how did it get there? Thank you for your help.

Re: bilge pump

Tell more about the type of boat. Fiberglass hull? Is she a sterndrive, outboard, or inboard? What types of thru hulls do you have?

Re: bilge pump

your boat must have a constant electric bilge float. it comes on just like a float in a basement well that operates the sump pump when it becomes full. u either have been accumulating water little by little and the float reached the point of turning on or u have a new big leak........post more info. did it stop? kept coming out? etc... hopefully for u it stopped.
