Do you guys know where can I get the Flywheel remover?the one shown in Seloc manual or something close.
All the auto part I went to have the wrong one. or there is a part number for it?
Your input is appeciated.
Harbor Freight has one. So will any decent auto parts store. It's called a vibration damper puller. Don't waste your time on a el-cheapo cast aluminum thing. You need the strength of steel. With a 3/4" diameter fine thread center bolt. You also need hardened Grade-8 bolts to go with it. The cheap bolts just won't do and you will be drilling them out when they break.
Or you can go to a dealer and get the real thing made for their outboards for 10 times as much money.
As suggested, the bolts size varies according to what you want to use it on and the thickness of the puller you get. Auto parts stores generally have Grade-8 bolts but I've heard horror stories about some of the prices some will charge. They should not be outrageously expensive.
Problem solved, went to NAPA auto parts and got a nice one for $17, is made from steel, and have 3 sets of bolts with it for diferent lenghts.
Thank you.
FR do you have any ideea where I can find 1/4 bolts grade 8?
I got some from Home Depot, Menards they snap like candies even do they are not the cheapest quality.
Everything I find grade 8 is 1/2 and higher and the bolt from the set are to large.
Grade 8 cap screws (bolts) are available in sizes from 1/4 inch and up in all the popular lengths. Try an automotive parts store or better yet a farm equipment repair shop. Rick.
