Another Democrat Disgrace . . .

Well maybe not a disgrace, but a very interesting thing to ponder. I was listening to my favorite talk show host the other day, Dennis Prager. He has taken the "success in Iraq is bad for Democrats" thing a step further. If you want to debate the Iraq success is bad for Dems thing call your favorite Dem, because they have been quoted in public as saying so. With that out of the way . . . Dennis went on to ask "What good thing for America is also good for Democrats?" His belief? Nothing!

Ponder that for a minute and then post one thing that could happen that would be both good for America and also good for Democrats. Examples: If the economy surges, that is bad for Democrats, or said another way, good for Republicans. Another very interesting one: Democrats are very heavily favored by single women. It could be argued that women who happily marry and have children and raise families are good for America, but statistically very bad for Democrats. Conceptually this exercise may **** you off, but again: What event or occurrence that would be good for America would also be good for the Democrat Party in general?

I fully expect for some of you to believe the premise is absurd. Please resist that and give me an example. It will make this much simpler. I'll add that this is a pretty sad, and yes even disgraceful, position to be in for a Political party . . .

I see no basis in fact to these assertions.....
Both single women & married women are good for America, as well as one does not need to be married to have children, nor do married women necessarily have children.........
I also think that when the economy surges, it is good for everyone as long as the methods used to make it surge are not "VOODOO" economics....
Your comparison model is flawed, I'm afraid.....
Those must have been some hellacious 'shrooms.....

I don't think all dems are totally liberal, just misguided. But when it comes to the modern "liberal" -- I've often pondered what type of "America" they envision. What must it be like to watch President Bush land on a US aircraft carrier and be treated like an American hero, with a banner behind him stating "Mission Accomplished?
"I know", says Larry the lib.. "I'll take it out of context ,then make a joke out of it!"
Such logic DOES dictate the path of the democrat party, but that doesn't mean they all hate the country that much. I think they call them "moderates" or something.

Whenever a party is in office, pretty much anything good that happens will benefit the party in office and hurt the party not in office. That went for the repubs during the Clinton years as much as for the libs during the Bush years.

Doesn't anybody else see that as well? It's not so much a party thing as just normal politics playing out.

Yeah I was thinking that too, but there are lots of examples that work regardless of who is in power. If more women marry it is bad for Dems no matter what. I am sure there are more examples. If Global Warming is debunked (good for America) bad for Dems. If abortion is widely assailed, bad for Dems. If it is proven that racism is not as prevalent as they preach (Good for America) Bad for Dems. If it is proven that we should be stronger on defense . . . I am back to it works even when Dems are in power (they are in Congress) . . . If it is proven that OJ did it, good for . . . well maybe not that one.

It is a completely flawed argument.

I would be thrilled if we caught/killed OBL tomorrow, There is a general peace and coming together in Iraq, Stock market goes to 15 k tomorrow, and health care is available from all employers to all citizens in this country, etc..

If that would happen (or even close) I for one would even vote for them.

Unfortunately, there is no chance any of that could happen, and it is my concerted opinion that how we are going about things are taking us in the precise opposite direction. It's remotely possible I'm wrong, and I'd love to be proved wrong.

You've had almost 7 years to prove me wrong, and so far you have succeeded in reinforcing what I believe to be true.

It's time for a radical course shift.

The Republicans were working real hard on their CORNTRACT with America and the stock market was surging in the Clinton years, (forced him to sign welfare reform after two vetos, remember?????) Bob Dole, (a good Honorable guy that had been doin' deals in Washington far toooooooooo long did not say things were worse then the Great Depression et al.

The MSM also focuses on bad news when Republicans are in the White house, just reflect on all the coverage of homelessness et al durring the Reagan admin. Remember Sen Dodd n' the rest of the "Clintonistas" tryin' to help poor ol' Daniel Ortega establish a Commie country just South of MEXICO????? Modern Dems always work closely with any and all of our enemies!! If your contentions are accurate, Murky, and that every thing is as rosy as you describe, what I think, as well as what Dems think, will be completely irrelevant.

The American voter is a smart bunch most times, and if that is true they will recognize it and your side will win in a landslide.

I'm willing to risk that and take my chances.
