Re: For all you fuel stabilizer nuts
Nice toy box Scaaty, I hope you burn Chevron also.
A long time ago, a super old wrench told me to skip all the snake oil, and a good de-carb will work best with Techron.. get the concentrate bottle. Damn if not right (he pulled motors down daily, and I learned a lot from him..mostly by using my ears instead of my mouth to learn)...and they aint got a patent wrap on it for nothing. Got nothing against S-Foam DP, but yep, Chevron in all but the parts getter....(170,000 Astro 4.3..good for another 200,000).Heres a few more pix...been wet since I was 5 (born 1950), and 47 years saddle time on two wheels..brother races a 56 Alfa in the Vintage, my Uncle is a founder of the Long Beach Car Races..youngest of a gear head clan. 21 Years Journeyman Machinist, and came out the womb clinking wrenches...people walk in my shop and the jaw drops..fully equipped...lathe, welders, more tools than a white man should be allowed to own. Proud of what I can do...and aint much I can't.
First pic is a project I started in 1990. Designed and built by me. mostly spare parts and an idea. Seems I was too early...now loud mouth idiots on TV BOLT crap together, and makes millions. Old chopper frame..cut down 8 foot front end, widened and made the brackets for dual discs, thats a rear hub laced on a 21 front rim, shoved in a Sportster motor, jack shaft, new solid rear end, car tire and homemade rim/hub (didn't even MAKE more that a 180 MC tire in them days). Sitting in the shop now..big cams, and that SOUND..yep, can smoke the tire easy..again..ALL parts were made by me..and a total rebuild on the motor.
Rest is a note under the pix...again, just some of the stuff I whipped together.. (and I just got back from an Antique MC Swap..brought nothing home this time..still need a winter project?????..but whatever ..it will be fast and probably not legal)
Probably 4000 hours in it
79 Shovel..86 inch S+S innards..blows off the new 88 Twin Cams..ITS ALL IN THE CAMS/INDUCTION!!
My Bagger..(first year Bagger 5 speed wet clutch EVO (84)..more miles than the town *****...and just about every state...always did month long rides, and by myself)
Beginning of a 115, back to 135, 2 new pistons, then a total new everything rings, bearings, etc wise...this was this winters project (whipped in 4 months), as the next few pix on the 15.9 foot Flatbottom it went on..freaking rocket..and as I don't want to HiJack..yep, I still Stabil my gas..WalMart sells half gallons now..just bought 2..
