Big Plans for the Weekend???

My wife and I plan on getting out in the intercoastal and doing some fishing tomorrow. It will be hot as blazes, but at least I'll be out in a boat and not sitting at work. What's everyone else got going this weekend?

Our rec weekend was last weekend. And what a hoot it was! Carol, the dawgz and I packed-up our n-t-u popup camper and canoe and headed for W.P. Franklin Locks on the i/c here in Lee county. It was a "shakedown cruise" of sorts, to familliarise ourselves with the new toy, and still be close enough to home in the event of a major malfunction. All went well, with the exception of midges getting injested when breathing thru the mouth, wind from Hcane Dean keeping the canoe "in port", and heat... It was all that poor a/c unit could do to keep up with it.
But we had a blast, and are looking forward to the next weekender.

Goin' to RR island Saturday evenin' if I can get outa a Sunday session at me bidness. May have ta wait 'till Sunday evening and stay Monday maybe Tuesday too! Been rainin' this August here in Gods' Country, (actually that's not abnormal fer this area), drip drip drip. The timin' of the drizzel is on the weekends too, (sunny when we are at work). That's why I have moss on me toes n' webs 'tween 'em too! JR

I'll be salmon fishing here on the St Mary's river here in the Soo.

I picked up a nice one Wed afternoon (about 10 lbs) that's in the smoker as I type this.

They are just starting get up this far in the river.

taking monday off last free day before the oldest goes back to school gonna go hit the lake and do some tubing and swimming maybe even camp

Sometimes i think Carol LOVES salmon more than she loves me, PW.. but alas, the only place to get it 'round these parts is in an upscale seafood store.

They have "Brown Trout" in the Lake RR island is in that get to be that big too 12er! The big Canadian Lakes have 30 plus lbs "Lake Trout". 'N Kings get over 100 lbs here, (fairly rare) or AK (not so rare): 12er. JR

I'll be mowing grass if everything dries out, and picking corn for processing, and putting on a roof ... all in upper 90 degree heat and high humidity. Anyone want to trade weekends?

aspeck I wouldn't want to be on the roof and cutting the grass is out as my tractor would need pontoons so i think i will stick to going out on the boat lol

No Aspeck, don't wanna trade.

Ol' Murky has ta finish me "high tech" outhouse on RR island, unless I have some guests (like me Bro or some such), show up.

There is not much that is easy on an island with zero shore power, no bridge, runnin' water, ('till I build a catchment system up on the ol' 150' rock in the middle of RR island), or most other cornveniences 'till I build 'em. JR

Teaching kayaking at a local symposium that I have been helping organize. I've been taking classes in teaching all week, and now I will get to be on the other side. Sunday I get to go kayaking down at the ocean for fun. Then, Sunday night it is back to work..... kayaking.

would have been nice to get out fishing in the ocean one more time before it closes Sat night, but it isn't going to happen.

Leaving right now for 3 days In Jerralls Cove...boat packed, dog tail wagging, meet more friends and boats there, one more bag of ice to keep 3 days of beer cold, and I'm off...

Work saturday...
Got the lawn mowed this evening...
I got a punch list of to-do's about a mile long......
I'll get out on the big pond one afternoon/evening during the week (weather permitting)..

If I get all my parts for my lower unit in the mail, I get to reassemble it this weekend. If not, I at least get to go to a combination wedding reception/housewarming/pool party/beer party at a friends new house.

Get the new to us tow vehicle ready for its initial trip next weekend. The trailer hitch is fine but I am having trouble getting the previously installed connecter out of the tube !!!! Been there about 5 years in my estimation !!! rusted solid. Any ideas for getting it out ????? Planning to try heat on it tomorrow if the rain stops. Then pull it with a chain attatched to another vehicle !!!!
Anyone got any better ideas ?????
Soaking it in penetrating oil right now.
