Re: Big Plans for the Weekend???

Get the new to us tow vehicle ready for its initial trip next weekend. The trailer hitch is fine but I am having trouble getting the previously installed connecter out of the tube !!!! Been there about 5 years in my estimation !!! rusted solid. Any ideas for getting it out ????? Planning to try heat on it tomorrow if the rain stops. Then pull it with a chain attatched to another vehicle !!!!
Anyone got any better ideas ?????
Soaking it in penetrating oil right now.

Attach the chain to something VERY solid, (NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE A HUGE VERY STRONG CHUNK OF STEEL ATTACHED TO BURIED CONCRETE) n' carefully VERY CAREFULLY ease out the clutch or put 'er in first gear. Hopefully the panther pi** has loosened her up and she slips out. Make sure no one is standing anywhere near the stern of the tow vehicle, n' that chain should be "high strength" with no flaws. Heating of the tube, (female) may also work. Good luck! JR

Sometimes i think Carol LOVES salmon more than she loves me, PW.. but alas, the only place to get it 'round these parts is in an upscale seafood store.
10POUNDS? That's a monster, even for slamon, isn't it?

You want to see a monster salmon (and stay in the lower 48) go to the Tillamook River on the Oregon Coast in the fall. I've seen them routinely 50+ lbs. Alaska doesn't count.

The salmon here in the great lakes are running a bit smaller this year for some reason, and 10 lbs is pretty average. The winner in the Detour, Mi. salmon derby held a couple weeks ago was 16 lbs, but then the wind was blowing at 35 mph, and most small boats never got off the trailers.

We have our derby in the Soo starting on the 30th of August, and I'll guess the winner will be in the 20 lb range.

I haven't really fished much out west (Straits of Juan De Fuca) recently, but 30 lbs used to be a pretty respectable salmon out there, with a few every year getting to 40 + pounds

Okay, picked a pickup load of corn for the ladies to process and freeze, then put a tin roof on a 55x30 foot building. Oh, did I tell you that when we started at 7 this morning the temp was 82 degrees and the humidity was at 89%???? I am too pooped to pop at this point ... give me more water!
