I'm working on getting this motor going. The previous owner said it would idle rough, and fuel was spitting out the sides of the pump(see other thread).
Upon further inspection I have found that the intake manifold and one of the heads have been replaced with newer parts. The newer parts are blue.
The non replaced head has some black soot on it, and I'm wondering if it is heat damage.
Please look the photos over and give your thought.
I also am wondering if there is anything wrong with running with the newer style head on the one side, as it looks much different. I'm not sure if the combustion chambers are the same size. I would think that if the motor ran with more compression on one side it would put uneven pressure on the crank bearings and wear it out.
Please advise.
