SO I ordered a new water pump kit from Maxrules.com, part number FK1073 which by all counts should fit my motor- it's a 1988. However the damn holes in the pump housing and the lower don't even come close to lining up! I tried it without the impeller thinking it was just bulging out a bit but it still didn't work. Should I send the pump back? Does anyone know the correct part number for an impeller kit only? The housing looks pretty good with no real pitting anywhere.

HA! I bet that has never happened to anyone else ether. LOL

The small pitting isnt good to have ether, If you can see any damage to the houseing it should be changed out as well.

Actually, it was an entire waterpump kit so it came with the new housing as well. The old one doesn't look pitted at all so if I can find the part number for the impeller kit only, I may buy it and keep it as a back up.
