Well its time agian to start thinking about where we would like to go for the round up this year. We'll open it up to any ideas and dates as well. I know there were a few that mentioned places last year but, we'll just start fropm scratch instead of bringing up an old bone. Just remember that camping near or on the lake or river would be great.

Hmmmmm, everyone must be busy with the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle.

Well, hopefully we'll have a few checking in over the next week, and they can give their input.

eurolarva is hoping for a western WI location, which suits me fine.
Maybe it would attract a few more members from the great state of MN.

Let's hear some suggestions.

later.

Maybe if we had a member map, or could create one to see how many people live in what areas... it seems like we have quite a few that live down in AL, TN, LA, and GA... so maybe something a little more central would be good. But again, it would depend on how many members, live where, and moreover, how many that would like to attend.

We should go create a member map on google just for this, and have only those who would are interrested in attending, mark their location.

i like the idea of this get together and would like to attend one. i'd like to meet the folks here on iboats. but, i think i live to far out in the corn fields for one to be held closed enough for me to attend.... if one was held on the mississippi on the east border of iowa. i might think it was close enough to get to...... if i didn't have to miss to much work...... camping would be the ticket for me. cheap to do.....

Well I have an idea of Praire Du chein, WI. It is on the Mighty Mississippi. I am trying to find a camp ground that has what we need. I know there are a few down there but, I want it to have access for the big boats to come in and use a slip but, also be private enough for us to enjoy. I know its one hell of a drive for Muskyone and EEboater but, this gives us a great oppertunity for everyone and every intrest on the Mississippi. Cabelas is in town, there great fishing, a casino across the river, and also a winery down the road. When I have more time Ill get you all some more info.

Merry Christmas to all and safe travels.

I like to go to what they call the Iowa Great Lakes region. There's Spirit Lake, Okaboji, and a bunch of other big lakes. There are good campgrounds there or just over the border in MN there are more campgrounds.

Re: 2008 MN, WI, IA Roundup

Here was the list for consideration last year.
The Madison lake chain
Lake WI - WI River - sandbar camping !!
Castle Rock County Park
Petenwell County Park
Big Eau Pleine County Park
Lake Winnebago - High Cliff State Park
Lake Winnebago - Calumet County Park
Fremont - Wolf River Valley Jellystone or Blue Top Resort
Mississippi and Wisconsin River confluence, Prairie du Chein - Wyalusing State Park
Upper Dells - Holiday Shores
Lake Geneva - Big Foot State Park
Since last year I found out about another campground on Winnebago. Kalbus' Country Harbor- It's on the west side of the lake about 5 miles SSE of Oshkosh. http://kalbuscountryharbor.com/index.html
The west side of Winnebago is usually a lot calmer than to the north or east.

I like this idea and maybe heading up the fox river into lake poygan and eventually into the wolf river, but open for all suggestions.
