One year we had satin covered ball ornaments. Claws and satin do not co-exit.

Re: More Cat Pictures.....

Love all your kitty pics. :)

Now here's a cat story for ya:

True Story "The Cat and the Rat" LMAO

A few weeks ago, our daughter Jackie was leaving iwth the kids to go somewhere and the cat appeared at the back door with a gift, a mouse/small rat. Jackie is scared to death of anything that moves, like frogs, spiders, snakes but especially small varmits. She screamed bloody murder at the cat, the cat freaked and dropped the rat and it ran into the house.

The rat has been in the house all this time. Jackie has decided to sleep upstairs with the kids until the rat is caught. She's had the exterminator there and he suggested buying sticky traps so she did. They put out a few and they have remained untouched.

Yesterday, the kids are finally back in school after being off for 3 weeks, so Jackie is messing around in the kitchen, making homemade pasta, singing and just enjoying life and the return to a normal schedule. She opens up the trash drawer and the rat falls on to her bare foot which nearly sent her rivoting into the ceiling. He ran under the refridgator. She immediately screamed like she was being murdered, jumping around the house, shaking, you know, lots of drama. She called her husband and he was with a client so she texts him. He said get 3 sticky traps and surround the fridge.

So she did. She was still freaked out so she went to get her neighbor who actually loves all of God's creatures, to sit and watch for the rat to come out and get stuck. When her and her friend were entering the front door she heard some noise. They ran into the kitchen and the rat was stuck in the sticky trap. Jackie screaming and yelling "what do we do?, what do we do now?" Her girlfriend said "let's go to the garage and find a box and I'll take it home".

Jackie agreed and out to the garage they went. All of a sudden she heard a terrible ruckas coming from inside the house. Freightened, Jackie edged her way back into the kitchen right behind her girlfriend. All of a sudden, the cat was bouncing all around the house off the walls, the couch, the cabinets, stuck to the trap WITH the rat. She was hitting everything in her path, stuck by one paw and its side of her face, right along with the rat who was trying to wriggle his way loose. This freaked them both out.

She called the vet. ROTFLMAO I don't know if she wanted them to come and unhook the cat and the rat or what, but she wanted to know if Angel the cat was going to die from poisoning and she was have to explain this to her 5 year old daughter who's had the cat since it was 8 weeks old. Anyway, it was not poisened. The vet said cut the cat away from the trap and treat her skin with mineral oil, etc.

By then Jackie's husband came home and amputated the cat from the trap, and put the rat and trap in a pizza box.

I haven't laughed this hard is so long I can't tell you. I hope you smile when you read this.

Some of you that have kids and understand that sometimes they can make you hurt from laughing to hard, this was one of those times for us.

And, just so you know, she does not live in a slum but a very high flautin neighborhood. :)

The kids don't mind.

I miss having a kitty kitty. Nothing like having a companion who will snuggle up with you. I also miss the reaction of the dogs when I called the cat, they would actually look for the cat, I don't recall them barking and howling for the cat like my brother's dog does though, but they would wine and whimper.

I have a story not to hijack. I opened up the utility room closet door and was reaching into the bag of dog biscuits that was next to the top shelf so I could get each one of our 3 dogs a biscuit when all of a sudden I grabbed a mouse, the darn mouse come running all the way up my arm until it got to my shoulder. Now I am one that isn't afraid of mice and laughs at a woman when they freak out. Well let me tell ya this time I FREAKED OUT!!. That gave me the willies for a while :D:D. I didn't know what I had a hold of until it ran up my arm.

Hey Nandy.........DONT EAT THE CAT MAN. :D:D:D

BoogieMan, trust me on this. Go to your local Humane Society or animal shelter and walk around the Kitties. There is always one that will reach out and say "Hey! It's me, your buddy" Try to limit the number of times you do that for obvious reasons.

I'll get a cat some day maybe. Right now I can't afford to feed myself or put money into my boats to finish them up for that matter. Don't need no extra mouth to feed although I know cats are very independent, but it would be my luck I would get a cat and not be able to feed him, then he would run off. I'll be alright, one less thing to stumble over during the night, as if I don't have a hard enough time walking on my own :D. Lord I won't forget that time.......walking through the living room with the aid of crutches and tripped on the cat, then my broke leg and I came crashing down to the floor hard :(, hurts my bad leg just thinking about it. That happened a while back.

BACK TO THE CAT PICTURES :).

Pretty cats by the way guys.

My 3 dudes.
You can tell it's winter.....As soon as I sit down in the recliner to watch TV, this happens (this is my lap-I took this pic with my cell phone the other day). The order and placement and the system for getting on my lap never varies. Far cat gets on first. Then black cat, then middle cat.
Then all 4 of us fall asleep and I miss my show.

Re: More Cat Pictures.....

Cats are definately cool critters. They are very independant in some ways but I don't find them to be as aloof as many people make them out to be. They also have very distinct personalities.

One of mine came from the local pound as an adult cat. He is very large but is basically a chicken about most things. When he gets ticked, however, look out! I have seen him completely terrorize more than one very tough tomcat, when they messed with him that "one time too many." This scenario usually invoves him getting backed into some kind of a corner during the fight - I hear all the snarling, spitting and so forth under the house and soon thereafter, some hapless Tom is hauling @$$ across the yard with my neutered, and supposedly docile male, about two inches behind.

He also likes to sit on my shoulders, draped around my neck. I have no idea where he learned this because I didn't teach it to him. Not long after I first got him, I picked him up and he just climbed up my chest to one of my shoulders and then around my neck, with his butt on one shoulder and his head/shoulders on the other. He will sit there as long as I let him, happy as can be. It's pretty funny to see.

Re: More Cat Pictures.....

Mai is a very needy cat. Every time I get in the house she will lay in the foyer at my feet and I have to pet her or she will continue to drop in front of my feet until I do. She loves to be rubbed under her chin. She also likes to be rubbed from head to tail but sometimes she gets a little excited and will nibble or try to grab you with her paws and there goes her claws in my skin. She is not a lap cat though, at times she will lay in my bed in my legs but I stopped letting her in the room because she will get rowdy in the middle of the night.
