All,
I have a 60 HP Johnson that runs great but I am trying to figure out what year it is. The previous owner thought it was a 71 but he was not sure. The reason why I am asking is I am looking for a trim and tilt for this motor. Does anybody know where I can get one. I might consider a CMC pt130 but I am hoping for something cheaper.
Thanks,
James

You should be able to find a used TnT unit on ebay.
Post your serial number off the motor and we can figure out the year.

Post the model number and we can tell you the year. It is located on the side of the transom clamp.

Over the years Johnson made 60HP engines in 2, 3 and 4 cylinder versions, sasanm. They differed a lot.

We need to know which you have at least, and the actual model number if possible.

Thanks guys! I found the model number 60ESL-71C. It was by the transom clamp. It is also a 3 cylinder. Let me know what you think about putting on a TNT.

hello,

like all deals, its up to u and ur needs/situation. for me, i wouldnt add one to my boat. it is trimmed fine for my use. i can lift it ok now that mount has been lubed. it is ez to do. course not out on the lake, but it is trimmed fine for engine/prop combo.

my neighbor has a similar boat/engine. his dad gave it to him. dad stopped boating at 80. but he had a TnT added once lifting it became a struggle.

i would put mount in top shape and spend the $$ on gas for the summer. :D just my 2-cents!~

regards,

lakester

I have a CMC-130 on my Johnny 48SPL (Boston Whaler Striper 15), Sasanm.

Being able to trim for optimum performancce not only gives me far better cruising speed but better fuel mileage.

The unit gives about a 4-5" setback which probably helps, too.

The downside is that the CMC unit is expensive and, to my eyes, ugly.

Check your birth certificate.
Mine was issued to me on my date of birth

Really have not heard of anyone getting one after that but with today?s advances in medicine I guess anything is possible
