Re: Bad Modification

I guess if the motor quits he can always un-tape the steering wheel and paddle home :)

That happens up here at Possum Lake all of the time.;) As Red Green says, duct tape is the handymans secret weapon.:D Besides that, if the engine quits you have a way to reach shore if you remembered your pocket knife, right Dalton?

Re: Bad Modification

Now that is a real poor man's boat! Just when I thought I seen it all. I might end up doing that to my 13ft, oh wait a minute I can't even afford a motor for that at the moment.

That boat truly has seen better days though for sure. Heck where are the seats? Oh never mind I see what is left of them up there lol. I hope that isn't a rescue boat ha ha. Heck whatever floats your boat I guess, or in this case whatever steers your boat.

Re: Bad Modification

What makes this story most scary is where it is located. Across the water is a nasty bunch of tidal rapids. Just off the dock it can be running a couple of knots. Think buddy better renew the tape if he plans on going through, somtimes the current is only slack for a few minutes. Once it is up around 8 or so it gets real interesting, and not much room if that paddle breaks free. Won't be finding a rescue boat anywhere near here, but know the crabbing will be real good if I see a paddle floating....

Re: Bad Modification

He's got a spare can of gas. I wonder if that is for outboard or the boat.

Hopefully he's planning to use the gas to give the boat a proper Viking funeral at sea!

Re: Bad Modification

What do the water cops think or do when they see something like this?

And if his duct tape lets go and he hits me, do you think he's insured.

A testiment to the abuse those old Johnnyrudes can take and still keep going. If it runs that is. It is tied to a dock. :)
