Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Lets not beat on the manufacturer too much, yet. Yes there is a problem but there are problems with many other boats, be it due to manufacturing or design. It happens with all types of items. What is important is that they acknowledge the problem and rectify it, hopefully, by replacing the boat. I also feel that they have dragged their heels long enough. Lets see what Tuesday brings.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Tahoes are pretty common around my area. It seems that most of the fit and finish complaints are on earlier model years, and have been addressed pretty well in the last couple of years. The main problem seems to be the service departments at Bass Pro. I have been looking at their Q-6's and depending on how this thread plays out, may buy one this fall. If I do, it will be at a real boat dealer though, not at the camping store.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

With the level of customer complaints on the Tahoe boats that are related to hull failure and poor workmanship, I think you pretty much have your answer on what the problem is. Tracker/Tahoe - if you are reading this, you just got crossed off of my list of folks that I would buy a boat from or recommend to someone else.

By the way .... as for descriptions of this situation, I prefer the PG rated use of the term "inhales!" :D

It's Tuesday! Can't Wait to hear my answer from Tracker Marine.

Here it is... Tracker Marine wants BPS to raise the boat (again), take pictures and send to an additional engineer. "Attach tape to the bottom so they can measure the distance in the cracks." What!!! I'm normally a nice guy but is this going to tell them it's not there problem? I told them I'm filing my insurance claim. I also just completed my "Consumer Complaint" to Boat U.S. Looks like I'll be waiting on the Insurance Company or Boat U.S. to come through for me. I'll keep everyone posted. Oh, it's 80 in Vegas today. Talk about a striper fishing day + kids are off school next week and I'm on leave.
P.S. Thanks for giving me an avenue to vent.

I've got to admit, that I am dissappointed to hear that BPS and Tracker are still not making this right. I certainly hope this is an exception and not the norm.

Sorry it's not resolved yet. :( It still sounds to me like Tahoe and BPS are stalling. I think you should go ahead and file a claim with your Insurance Co. If the Insurance doesn't have to pay. You are not charged with a claim. A letter or contact fro your Insurance Co will show both BPS and Tahoe you mean business and they will have to move to a decision.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Thats crazy! Im telling you i would be standing in the lobby of the BPS during all the spare time i have and asking the manager every half hour or so if they have heard anything yet. Then i would stand over by the boats for sale with pictures in hand. Not saying that i would start bashing them right on their sales floor right away but thats just nutts and i dont think that i would be able to keep from loosing my cool! Good luck i think that the longer it draws out the worse for you that it is. They got to figure that if you are not going bananas by now then you are going to just wait to get ripped and just take it.

wait a minit here........

tracker marine.....the selling agent..?......wants bps...to take pictures and send to an additional engineer???????

why does the selling agent want picks taken...?????

did bps tell the selling agent it was dropped and they dont want to pay????

that it is the selling agents fault?????

bainey.....sorry....your in the middle of a dealer/manufactures battle.........
it could take a while.........call the insurance company....get the marine survey......and call your lawyer......

without thoes three steps...it will take for ever....
the manufacture will blame the dealer...the dealer will blame the manufacturer...the shipper will say...i didnt do it.......and you will wait till someome pays...but no one wants to......

i deal with manufactures all day long....(not boat)...btdt....

yea i agree oops. But you got to do something! You cant just wait for em to figure it out. You really got to do something. Whatever it is you got to do it soon as they are going to be getting buisy for the spring selling boats and they will worry more about making that dollar. But you really got to do something to pressure them to make a decision.

If everyone that reads this post were to send an email to Traker marine stating that we are watching them and voice an opinion.

A couple thousand emails from people spread out over North America would speak volumes.
If anything it would certinaly speed things up.

I read through this entire post and will be boat shopping in the near future for a replacement. I have always liked Four Winns and Wellcraft but being price conscious might have looked at these boats. Not anymore! I will stick with proven companies and pay a little more.

I cannot beleive this boat made it out of the shop with those defects. There is some activity that took place, most likely prior to customer delviery, that is just not listed yet.

You read my little mind! I notice there are over 4 thousand views of this rediculous circus. One polite e-mail, just to serve notice that we're very interested in the outcome, might make a difference.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

Yea someone e-mail them with the link to this thread in the e-mail and they will see how manny people are watching this and waiting for the outcome. Thousands of people know about it now. They would be crazy not to take care of this guy. The only thing though it would work against him if he is not being completely truthful in what he is saying in this thread. Anyways im really interested to what is going to happen.

Just google Sea Ray or Bravo III complaints and you will find many problems with high end boats also ;)

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

I made the insurance claim yesterday. They told me if it was a manufacture's defect they wouldn't cover it. OK, That will at least put the blame on me or them.
The Surveyor is going to survey it thursday or friday and the insurance (USAA) said they should have the result by Monday. Insurance company said they called BPS to tell them they were coming but didn't get an answer on the phone. I bet this will get some kind of answer for me. I'll post the results as soon as I get them.
Anyway, If they give me a new boat, Anyone wanna buy a new Tahoe? lol.

Done. I sent Tahoe the link to iboats this forum, with over 4,000 hits, and also BoatUS with over 3,512 hits. To Tahoe and I ask them if they were concerned about this amount of negative advertising. I stated. That I hoped as well as all the other some 7500 Boat owners who are watching this situation to act to resolve this issue in a quick and responsible way. I also informed them that BoatUS has a membership of over 650,000 Boat Owners many of them who read these forums.

I already got a response back from Tahoe/Tracker Boats that a Representative will be contacting me soon about my concern. I also found another Thread which is active today with some other both happy and unhappy Tahoe owners . Many who have experienced the same problems.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

I knew if someone let the manufacturer know how wide spread this thread has become there would be a response. Companies know how fast their reputation can be effected by a negative reputation on the Internet. Trust Me.

Re: Stringer Pushing through bottom of Boat?

I may well have already cost them atleast one customer. Someone on here was asking about the differences between two of their models and I told them they might want to read this thread and google consumer complaints against this manufacturer. I didn't personally know anything about them except what I have read and heard about them. Told them to do some research and make as informed of decision as possible.
