Need some advice

I need some advice, and not to sure where to post. I am thinking of purchasing a 1989 22.5ft Raven. It has a Mercruiser Alpha 1 outdrive. 3.7 Liter 224 cid 165hp. Comes with dual axel trailer. I put down 100.00 deposit. Would like to get some input on motor. Anyone have this particular boat and motor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The total price for everything is 5000.00. Do you think this is a good deal. Would really appreciate some kick back on this one. Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, that is a Mercruiser "470" Do a search for 470 problems.....or just stick around. There'll be LOTS of people ready and willing to tell you all about the 470!

You've started a thread up in the boating forum about this Same Exact Question,....... It's drawing Good traffic,+ has several Answers,... Mine Included......
You also started several other threads in several forums here,.. About the Same Exact Question.......The Moderators deleted them,.... 1 question, only needs to be asked in 1 forum,... Pick the forum that most closely matches the nature of your question,+ Use That Forum...
It's confusing enough for most of Us regulars to follow the Issues of Many different Posters as it is, without the cross-forum posting....Especially for Us Old Farts,........
While this question could easily fit into this forum,.. Or the general boating forum,...

It's a Quirky motor, with No Easy Upgrades.....
