The thought of leaving 200 gals of liquid gold in my boat while I'm not there should cause some sleepless nights. anyone have a line on locking fuel caps that look somewhat good

thieves tried to siphon the gas out of my jeep grand cherokee but I quess couldn't get the hose down the tank and my skid plate kept them from doing anything to the tank so the aaaholes stole the catyletic converter! looked like they had a nice pipe cutter cause it was a clean cut, imagine my surprise when I started up the jeep. The police informed me that alot of this has been going on around here and they're giving $100 a pop for the converters at the scrapyards titanium alloy I hear is what's in them, so watch your jeeps and high setting trucks cop said thieves can lay under them easily.

A stolen converter will buy a tank of gas. Most american made cars the converter will bring in this area $120 to 180. Imports can bring as much as $220. It is the precious metals inside the converters. The metals contain a percentage of platnum from what I hear.

I made a clamping device to pinch down my fill hose to prevent gas from being pumped out of mine. Thinking about putting the fill in a hidden area and the obivious one that would allow their hose to reach into the bilge water.

Why don't Marine suppliers make a Keyed Locking Gas cap for Boats? Somebody better get inventing one and fast. I thought about this last year and I see this as a major problem coming up very soon.

They do have locking caps for boats. I saw one at the marina that I dock at. Can't remember the manufacture, but I'm sure if you searched you will find them........SS

Co-worker lost 100 gallons the first night the boat sat at the dock this year. I will be buying a locking cap and not leaving gas on the boat if I don't have to.
