I just replaced the power pack on my 96 Evin 115. No spark. Disconnect one of the two 4 wire harnesses that plug into the back of the power pack, not the one from the stator, and the motor runs puurfect:D. Obviously one of the four wires in the harness that was unplugged is a kill wire. What are the other 3? I would like to fully understand what each wire is for so I can understand exactly what potential problems there might be with the wiring in this harness.
I assume 1 other is tach? One is kill, hmmmmmm.....

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO FIND A GOOD WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THIS ENGINE?????:confused:

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!
Any idea what the other 3 wires are?

if you have=>

grey: tach
black with yellow line: kill
red with yellow line: starter relay
black: common ground
red: +12v from battery
tan: alarm (buzzer)
purple: accessory (+12v from engine)
purple with white line: primer (choke?)

hope my info is correct for your model engine. taken from an OMC wiring diagram.

Re: Where do these wires go?

Turns out the kill wire is the culprit. Seems the switch is working ok, so I just ran a new wire from the power pack to the switch. The other wires in the harness were for overheat(wht/blk and brwn) and the other (yellow/red) goes to the ignition switch and most likely triggers the timing advance for startup. Problem fixed!:D
