I don't think Sierra sells the float. The OEM kit has one. BRP 0439071. Is this a new motor for you?

Yes, I got it yesterday. The carb looked good but has a cork float. I don't know if I should replace it, it looks fine to me. It's a good lookin motor, all there except for the front emblem.

Picking up a 58 18 horse parts motor tomorrow morning. I'll look and see what kind of shape the medallion is in. You're welcome to it if it's any good.

Cheers................Todd

Maybe they should open a barter trade forum. Everyone has something to swap or give. I know I have lot of junk, scratch that, misc old stuff. Any body got a tiller for a 9.9 or 15 hp Evinrude?

I'll say!

Not at all.

If you need something let me know. I have a few parts laying around.

Thanks

Hmmm, Well as it happens I am looking for a steering bracket and throttle gear for a 56 10 horse QD-17 :) !

Great idea! I have to believe it would be busy and entertaining! :)

I have a tiller handle for an 18 horse. Actually one half is from a 56 10 horse and is slightly bowed and one half is from I believe a 58 18 horse. But the half with the gear and shaft is from the 18 horse and so has the cast brass gear as opposed to the stamped looking gear from the 10 horse. I have no idea if that would help you at all.

Cheers..............Todd

Re: Qd-19

Looks in nice shape, CC... The lower unit looks very good, faceplate is great, decals are non-faded-- been sitting in a dark garage?? You really have found some nice-looking motors in your area. Hey, I believe americanoutboards sells a sticker with their decal set that replaces the front medallion. It looks kind of cheesy compared to the real thing but then again, is not that bad.
Here's a couple of pics of my latest purchases. The '62 fastwin I got with an identical parts motor for 50 bucks and they were both stuck. I got the complete one unstuck with practically no effort (it was BARELY stuck) and it is running really nice as of today. Someone had bent the pin that the throttle cam roller is on slightly and it took me a while to figure that one out. I haven't tackled the RD-14 yet because I'm looking for a tiller for it. It does have good compression at least. Definitely not a "low hours" motor...:D
Later,
JBJ

As It turns out not all 15hp motors are equal. Mine is a 1975 and the gear and shaft assy is year specific. Different part # for 74-75-76. I imagine the gear is somehow different. Are you From England?

Re: Qd-19

I got the motor this morning. Over all I'm pleased, It looks like the flywheel is straight at least. (the one on my 57 18 wobbles) The medallion doesn't look too bad. I'm pretty sure the screws are not correct and there are only two of them. But CC if you want to pm me your address I can pop it in the mail.

Thanks Todd

Ah '75, yeah '74 on were the "low profile" design weren't they? Somewhere in there. I imagine they are different.

Am I from England? No, born and raised right here in Oregon. Just out of curiosity, why do you ask?

Ah, hehe well I was involved with a computer combat flight simulation dedicated to the Battle of Britain for a long time. And there was always a certain amount of period banter amongst the community members, and the cheers thing just kind of became a habit  .

Cheers :) ...............Todd

BTW Tom, I just noticed there is a steering bracket/tiller handle off of a 79 25 horse on ebay. 25hp tiller handle
Don't know if that helps.
