Shelter Logic 12' X 26' in the side yard.
The cover/top piece only lasts about a year, but what can you expect from the southern NV sun? Replacement cost for top is $110. per year..Not bad

Best thing I ever did was invest in a covered slip at a marina. Park the car, hop on the boat and away you go!

In the big building back there up on the 4th shelf - first time seeing it lifted
up - one day after buying it brand new is a little nerve wracking. :)

My Lowe gets the 3rd slot on the house garage along with the wife's and son's cars.

I get the 24 x 24 detached all to myself for the truck.

My last boat was 8 years old when I traded in and was in great shape. Keeping them out of the elements really helps.

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

I keep mine in the garage. When I was looking to buy I had a calculator in one hand for payments and a measuring tape in the other to make sure it would fit!

The above post (quoted) from Rober185 brought a grin to my face.

I'm a newbie boater. Wife and I decided to take the plunge at the Minneapolis Boat Show last January. Wanted something we could cruise around in with the dogs (for her) and go fishing in for me and my son. Had to be light, so aluminum, and easy on gas, so 4 cylinder 4-stroker. But most of all, it had to fit in the garage.

Measured length, height and width of garage, then made same measurements on all the boats we looked at. We found a model that fit our needs perfectly.

Big day comes. Get boat, take it for shakedown trial, tow it home. Wife gets out to help direct me back it in. Just as the rig is approaching the garage door she yells, "STOP!!!" One of those blood curdling screams, if you know what I mean. Then she says, "Ken, you're not going to like this."

Get out, walk back and stand next to her and there it is. No way the outboard would fit in the garage door; way too high. For a brief nanosecond the thought went through my mind..."Oh God, what have I done. All that money. How could I miss this in all the measuring I did?"

So I began to rethink the buying process, and it hit me that all the boats we saw on display and measured were with the motor tilted down. The dealer had tilted ours all the way up before he sent us on our way. Duh!

After tilting the motor down it was obvious it would fit under the top of the door. Next test was the windshield. Yep, it made it, too; just as I had measured. By a whopping 1 1/2 inches!

Back in the trees is a locked compound and in this compound is my boat.

It is so cool to just drive over and throw it in the water now. Not as cool as a covered as a covered slip, but ...

My 18' baby isn't very big, not very fancy.... but incredibly practical for fishing.

I keep her right on the front yard where I can stare at it and think about fishing, when I can't be on the water.

Of course in the summer, she's almost always hooked to the back of my truck. My work and my home yard are relatively low traffic and low crime.
Winter time I will throw the frame and tarp over her and weep until May.

I belong to a boat club that provides you with the option of docking your boat in the water, storing it on a trailer on club property (makes it easier than hauling it back and forth from home), and then of course taking it home and just launching it from the club.

For now mine is in the driveway. My 61 Merc Comet is torn apart in half the garage, the other half is piled high with junk! Once my ex-father-in-law moves his 66 Ford Tbird from the side of my house, it will go there...it's pretty safe in my driveway though. I am the craziest white boy in the neighborhood so everyone leaves my stuff alone!!! (I've even left my garage open overnight and nothing got moved!)

My Victoria as in my avatar,,,plus now there is a 24' Rienell Cuddy behind it, and then the one down in the back yard. It gets wet a couple of times a year when it floods. As in the pic below. Some day I plan to get a new outdrive/engine for my Victoria. Then I'll use the old outdrive/engine for the VIP.......

I keep it down at my dad's dock. It stays pretty safe and haven't had anything happen to it yet...

I keep the Tahoe deckboat (19 foot) in the garage. Thank goodness for the foldable tongue...

The Skiff is in the driveway right now - will be moved to the back yard behind the doublewide gate when the newness wears off...
