under a lean-to next to the barn. Thieves are not an issue out here and there's a small, secluded public ramp at the end of the road so no worries

I have a fenced side yard. I keeps parts from disappearing and my wife can't see it from the front of the house.

Marina, 5 minutes away from my home. It's a pain there are no public boat ramps, but a big car is out of the question anyway.

I believe it's not even allowed to let your boat on the driveway for an extended period.

Ah well, with the boat already in the water, we can use it as much as we like, dont have to worry about driving it home, drinking and all that.

I keep all five in my back yard, and two projects at my shop in the back warehouse. I wish they all would fit at the shop but there's just no room.
Keeping them all covered and dry becomes quite a chore.

Mine stays in the back yard on the trailer, usually covered with a blue tarp with 2 vents in it, convenient to the water out the back gate.

Every now and then I put the canvas on and sun it.

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

I had mine stashed at a friends house, but it was sitting outside and he got a complaint of too many vehicles/boats on the property so I rented an extra garage stall at the apartment I live at. I was easily spending in gas getting to his house for what the garage stall costs, plus its now 50' away and I use it 3-4 times a week now.

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

During the 'boating months' I have it tied to a dock where I spend my weekends (campsite/resort)

In the winter months (yeah, it sucks!) I winterize it and store outdoors on my campsite.

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

So, what's the process if you want to use it?

Mon-Fri we call ahead and it's in the water when we get there. Saturday
and Sunday we show up and let them know there but it's in within 10 minutes.

After hours we have to let them know to put it in 30 minutes before closing (7pm)

All in all, not a bad deal. Almost as convenient as a wetslip only without the
algae and gelcoat damage.

If I know I can't fish for a couple of weeks, I will put it in storage about a mile from the house. Otherwise, it sits in my driveway.

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

Like uscboy, I keep mine in a High 'n Dry marina. Was going to tow & ramp it, but the marina, which is less then a mile from my house was/is running a $79 special for boats under 18'. I can, but don't call ahead, 'cuz its fun to watch, and I get to chit-chat with the Dockmaster, and so far, I have't had to wait more then 6 minutes for launching. In the almost 3 weeks I've had the boat, I've been out 12 times, which is more then I probably would've been had I had to tow and ramp it myself. :)

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

A big part of my choice was that it must fit in the garage. It fits with just over an inch to spare with the trailer swung. Now, the snowmobiles and their trailer are in the third stall, the boat is in the second and one of us get the first stall. Indoor storage in MN is a must imo to keep it looking new for a long time to come. I will gladly sacrifice a car to the elements before a boat. I hope to have an indoor garage to park it for the winter. I can imagine my wife will really get sick of clearing snow and frozen rain off her van this winter.

I keep my 18ft Stratos in the "boat barn" I had built to hold all my fishing gear.

Re: Where do you keep your boat?

A good source of friction between my wife and I. She desperately wanted a boat to play in (I grew-up with one, so I knew it would be a hassle). Anyhow, got one that fir our budget, which meant it will need to be worked on to get it going properly. We have as single garage/driveway which she doesn't want the boat blocking her way. And she is sick of dealing with the kids all day while i am at work, so needless to say the boat is getting neglected.
Usually will be kept at storage outside.

In my garage....I wouldn't have gotten it if it hadn't fit. It's heated so I plan to store it there. However, I might decide to store it if my friend's barn has room in the winter. It is in the third bay and if it wasn't for my gun safe, I wouldn't even have to fold the tongue on the trailer.

Currently in a pole barn covered, but I just sold my old boat trailer and old OMC drive, so I have the money to build my 24x35' shop to hold all my toys. :)
