I Hve just noticed these this visit been a week or so since i was last here, but i dont think they were there then? If you put you mouse on them is talks about shouping or searching for them on yahoo? Anybody know why these are here, is it a way for iboats to get more advertisement $? Its on random words there is one on boating when you see this forum discription, or on words like jackplate, etc. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this?

I'd say your computer has been infected with malware--in this case a "BHO" (Browser Helper Object.) There are a couple that do this, but the one that most people get is "Cool Web Search." Most virus programs will find it. "Hijack This" will also find it. I don't think it's a problem with the site.

clemsonfor, you have picked up some sort of syware on your computer. I had this happen a couple weeks ago to the wife's computer. I don;t remember what the program was called, but a good anti spywar program will find it and remove it.

Got the same thing - only when I'm NOT logged on. Soon as I log in those pesky blue lines go away. It's definately junk from a company called ContentLink. BTW I have two spyware programs running - something definately not right.

I'm not seeing anything using Firefox on Linux BUT... Out of curiosity, I fired up my Windows computer and opened the forum with Firefox.
Not logged in I did not see any ad links.
Then I tried it with Internet Exploiter... err Explorer, and sure enough, there they were.

Solution: Get a more secure browser.

Re: Whats with the double underlined blue links?

As best I can tell, this is what it looks like to me...

iBoats has added Kontera Contentlink to this site. It's doesn't appear to be something that infects the user's computer (though it is annoying and a bit intrusive imo). When you mouse over the double links a tiny windows appears with an ad on it. If you click the little question mark on the window it will take you to a page with a link to disable it. It may only be disabled until you clear your cookies.

Can anyone confirm this?

I opened up the site in Explorer (I usually use Firefox) and there were no links.

I looked up Kontera Contentlink, and apparently you can turn it off. When the little boxes pop up, you click on the question mark in the corner, then click on "If you would like to disable Contenlink, please click here."

Do we know if this is legit? I dont want to go clicking on pop up windows if we might think that it is some sort of malware. This may indeed down load it?

I also noticed that as i was either logged in or out that they dissappeared did not associate which it was though, it seems that they may move words not sure?
