the motor has been tilting up for who knows how long, yesterday i put it down so it sits like it normally would, to work on it.

then i propped it back up.

today i go do the same and i see it has oil around the vent areas and the back.

it looks like its kind of old oil... but still

After sitting forever you are going to put a new water pump in it anyway....aren't you? If there is oil coming out of those round water inlet holes, and I'm not convinced that it is, but if it is, it came from the drive shaft seals under the water pump. Simple solution: While you are putting a new pump in replace the shaft seals while you are there.

A wise idea. The oil leak can wait that long
