The boat is a 1997 Maxum 1900sr with a 4.3 Mercruiser. It was parked in a garage for four years so I had to do a few things to get it running. I rebuilt the carb, new impeller, water pump, battery, plugs, plug wires, distributer cap, rotor, fuel filter, oil and oil filter. I also set the timing and the idle.
What I would like to know is if the rpm's and top speed are where they should be. I took it out today with three adults and one child with a total weight of about 600 to 650 #'s including gear. The boat was also topped off with 28 gal of fuel. At wot and trimmed out I got 53 mph at 4800 rpm's. Do these numbers sound right for this boat and motor?
I would like to thank everyone here for the help. I found all the information needed to get the boat going by searching this forum. When you take the time to answer a question you are not just helping one person. You are also helping people like me who would rather find the answer using the search rather than waiting for someone to reply in a post.
Thanks!
