brand new wall in a new bathroom, dont have a mirror yet, thought I'd ask how to mount it before I get one
WizeOne is using the method I have used and that usually comes with the mirror. I do not use adhesives. 1) Because they do not come off easy and usually tear the paint off the wall or removes the reflective coating off the back. 2) They are too permanent a solution for something that is usually the first to be replace when a bathroom is remodeled.I have three bathrooms, each with sizeable mirrors. They sit in an anodized aluminum channel, that is screwed to the studs, then held at the top by two plastic clips that are centered then screwed into inserts in the drywall. There was no adhesive used and they were easy to remove.

If you use this method, I would use gloss lacquer on the bottom backside of the mirror, then use some clear silicone across the front of the channel. This will keep any moisture, that would drift/splash down into the channel, from eating the backing on the bottom of the mirror.
I just had to have the bottom inch, on my three mirrors, cut off due to moisture damage after 20 years. The method above is how I reinstalled them after new wall paper was installed in the baths.
It never occured to me that all the water splashed on the mirrors would run down into the channel and eventually eat the reflective backing away.
DON'T spray ANY liquid on the face of the mirror, .....The silicone MAY work, but the habit of NOT spraying will be the best defense.
I have a large 3' diameter round mirror over the head. I used picture hangers for this. It leans slightly downward which could be easily cured by gluing a wood block on the bottom. But this arrangement works out well as my wife is 14" shorter than I am.
