I have a 1966 "merc 350" 35HP outboard that is pull start. I was wondering If anyone has ever added electric start to one of these? I know some of these were made electric start. Mine looks like it has the bracket to hold the starter but doesnt look like the flywheel has teeth on it. Any ideas?

You need a flywheel, starter, solinoid and assortted wiring so check around eor a donor engine with the parts you need.

I have an old 60's 35 parts motor in a container. Dunno if it is electric or pull.
But if you are interested in the parts, I can check it out.

Re: 1966 Mercury 35 question

The shroud is there...mattter of fact, I think the motor is whole.
I may not get to the container until sometime this weekend.
At your convenience, send me a p.m. so I won't have to wade through the forums.

I tried to send you a PM but it said you were not accepting them at this time. Just let me know what you find out about the motor. Thanks

I haven't forgot you. I just didn't get down there last weekend. I was down today but I forgot the $#@$ key to the container. I'm going to try again tomorrow.
Sorry.
